The spatial logic of my new object can simply interpret as “the motion of Vortex This concept can be explained in four parts: the wire model, the new surface, the site and the materials. Firstly, the wire model is the base of my new object. After manipulated the old wire model, the new wire model has been created the new volume and space. Through watching my new wire model, you can see all the wire are twisted and revolving and presents a motion of rotate.

SYMBIOSIS Design Studio 3: Urban Quality & Material / Fall 2018 Progarm: Mixed-Use Residential Tower Instructor: Erich Schoenenberger Site Location: Downtown Brooklyn, NewYork

The project is a mixed-use residential tower. The form of the tower is nine small towers have been merged together, and it elegantly playing the vertical curve element. The initial idea about this project is trying to build an intimate spatial relation in the building and context. This kind of relation could see in two different parts of the building. Firstly, The building’s entrance and lobby moved to the underground level, and the ground level has been designed as a public square, which is a way expands the public area of downtown Brooklyn. The problem of the dense population in that area could effectively reduce. Secondly, the amenities joint is designed as an area connecting the living area and office area. People who live on the upside and people who work in the bottom would have an area which has multiple amenities to chill and communicate. The amenity joints located in the middle part of the tower, and it formly shows the function of connecting two different space.

ARBITRARINESS Design Studio 2: Interiorities & Conext / Spring 2018 Progarm: Middle School Instructor: Maria Sieira Site Location: Downtown Manhattan, NewYork

The project is a middle school, which planned to site up in Downtown Manhattan. The main character of this project is the interior space designed into a disordered geometric form. The interior space is a mixture of three different elements, fragements of crockery, geometric chunk, and geometric lines. The purpose is using these elements to create a disordered and random hybrid Eventually, simplified the mixture to develop the reasonable space.

The Malecon Belt (Group Competition Work) Design Competition: Shaking up Havana’s Malecon Progarm: Sea Defence & Cultural Space Promoter: Eleven Magazine Site Location: Malecon, Havana Group Leader: Haoyuan Wang Group Memebers: Kevin Lo, Hsien-Ting Huang, Ruoting Qiu

Malecon, as the heart of the city of Havana, is the not only one of the densest traffic and pedestrian attraction, a sea defense for the city, and the connection of the different neighborhoods. With tourist attraction predominantly located in Habana Vieja and businesses concentrated in Vedado, Centro Habana is often forgotten and underdeveloped. With Malecon running through all three neighborhoods, The Malecon Belt aims to create a comfortable and unique experience along the Malecon and, more importantly, revive the adjacent neighborhoods by encourage more foot traffic into these areas. The architecture form of the Malecon Belt is like a very long undulating ribbon without cut off from the start to the end. The ribbon form keeps doing different motion, like raise up, lay down, and jump. The whole ribbon form presents a very organic connection with the site. Every motion offering different functions. Such as the raised part has been designed as the pavilion; the jumping part is the pedestrian bridge, the laydown area has been designed as the green space and bench.
