Taking inspiration from the coffee fruit, coffee beans and cups of coffee as elements to design unique workspaces throughout the floor plan. Creating neighborhoods surrounded by individual workstations allows people to interact and collaborate. Using lighter colors and materials to brighten up the workspace.

room, two baths, a studio, a kitchen and a living room with patio. Rose is 25 years old and is very close with her father who is a mason. Her name comes from her beloved mother who passed away at a young age and her mother always had a passion for rosé. Rose is a freelance artist who often works from home. She enjoys wine and likes to have her friends over. She adores her pet “corky” and he loves to follow her wherever she goes.

The design concept is “A box of rosé.” The floor plan is box-shaped to encompass the idea of a box of rosé. A shade of rosé’s color was assigned to each space with matching furnitures. The shade of rosé in each space is designated by the amount of time spent in the space.

Drawing inspiration from Japanese culture’s usage of “fish” as a symbol of luck, we wanted to utilize the same motif in both the physical shape of the space, as well as a metaphor for the customer’s experience at our facility. The three ways of cooking the fish: marinating, grilling, and boiling. Represent the three spa facilities: the massage, the sauna, and the mineral bath. The result is a Japanese Urban Retreat called “Fish in Three”

P U F F M E U P The Puff Me Up Collection started with an all around puffy sleeve that can be worn with anything as an accessory. By studying the 3D print, I was interested by the symmetrical and wavy elements. It reminded me one of the behaviors in nature: ocean tides. Eventually, creating a collection inspired by different length and strength of ocean tides.

KAPPUKEKI Conceptual Cafe

Spring 2018 — Individual Project

The Design Challenge is to design a conceptual restaurant in San Francisco. To use recycled material to create a light fixture and design a custom wallpaper motif, as well as to develop a 3D stamp for wallpaper, and stencil wall. Growing up, we always have cupcake liners lying around on the kitchen table. Using the cupcake liners as the recycled material to design the light fixture. To continue with the sweet dessert theme, using strawberry cheesecake as the 3d stamp for the stencil and wallpaper. The design is a sweet dessert shop where the atmosphere is monochromatic. The front section is more open and public for shorter time of stay. The middle section with the strawberry cheesecake stencil wall is for branding where pictures can be taken and shared. The back section is more private for afternoon tea.

MICKEY’S PILL Third Space

Fall 2 019 — Senior Thesis

Creating a “third space” in an existing public building. The San Jose Civic is a former arena, currently operating as a theatre, located in downtown San Jose, California. Mickey’s Pill is designed to be a second stage free for the public use, providing the user concert-like experience. It is located in the center and under the San Jose Civic. However, since the design is created for public use, it is not directly connected. Therefore the experience is not as grand as the users above, who paid for tickets to enter for the experience. For example, the user in Mickey’s Pill will not see the visuals happened in the CNC but can only experience through hearing. Using this contrast to create an otherworldly experience for the public.
