BARAKA OPERA TRUST CONCERT AT BRAEBURN THEATRE 2022(EVENT REVIEW) BY WANJIKU THUKU
All roads led to the Braeburn Theatre recently where the Baraka Opera Trust singing group hosted an opera concert to celebrate all the famous opera classical pieces of music by the greatest musical composers in the world. The event which was hosted by Ian Mbugua was a remarkable success as he took the audience on a journey of the old classical opera songs to celebrate their diversity that is singing songs from the likes of Mozart like La Ci Darem La Mano from Don Giovanni,Crudel! Perche Finora From Marriage of Figaro by Mozart, Brindisi (Libiamo) form La Traviata by G.Verdi and the famous opera song Habanera from Caremn by Bizet just to name a few while cracking few jokes in-between scenes to lighten up the mood. The famous opera singers were accompanied by the Baraka Opera Trust Chamber Ensemble as the Baraka Opera Trust Chorus made up of sopranoes,Mezzo Sopranos and altos,Tenors,Basses and Baritones. It was quite refreshing and a revelation to me as people listened and sang along to their best opera classics as they enjoyed the ambience of the Braeburn Theatre Hall with a fifteen-minute break inbetween to freshen up with nice snacks and soft drinks from the school canteen in the lobby.
I look forward to the next Barak Trust Opera concert and future shows from this group as we reminisce the best opera music from world famous composers.
