BLANKETS AND WINE EVENT RECAP 2022

What better way to celebrate and usher in Christmas holidays than to hold one of the biggest music festivals in Kenya. The Blankets and Wine event was a whole mood and major experience as artists, revelers and corporate clients/brands converged at the Kasarani Laureate Grounds recently.
There were several artists who performed onstage including Savara (mastermind music genius and fashion extraordinaire from Sauti Sol),Ckay from Nigeria who was the guest sensational artist who came to promote his latest EP ‘Sad Romance’ and even brought out Harmonize from Tanzania as the surprise guest artist towards the end of his one hour performance belting out his popular songs ‘Jeje De Whine’, ’Emiliana’,’ Samson and Delilah’, ’Love Nwatiti’ amongst a few others. Only Rosa also performed hit songs like ‘Only Fans’ amongst other songs that intrigued the crowd.Winyo,the legendary live band-Them Mushrooms, Wakadinali, Polaris, Dj Suraj, Wendy Kay, Musa keys, Band manners, and a few other famous acts.
Apart from live performances, there was a section for kid's games, body art, adult games, and other interesting activities. The velo team brought a new gaming experience as well as a 360 booth, dancing games,carricature 3D digital portraits as well as Gran Turismo Arcade gaming experience.
There were lots of drinks, food of all kinds, high profile fashion vendors selling clothes,shoes,bags and accessories of all kinds,Handaas Jaba Juice was on sale as the minute maid team led their activation with free mocktails made from apple, mango, tropical fruit, and orange pulpy, a fruity digital screen game as well as gift hampers to be won. There was a surprise DJ set of all female deejays that was steered by Jack Anduru on the saxophone as people wined and dined in ‘the village’ section.
Some of the celebrities who attended blankets and wine were Porgie of Mookh.com ticketing team, Mutua Matheka(famous Kenyan photographer),Blinky Bill, Diana Mayonde,Lyra Ooko,Caroline Kioko of films in 48 hours (about 2 days), Buddha Blaze, Eric Thimba,Al Black(Jameson Brand Ambassador),Dela Maranga, Fena Gitu aka Phenomenal Woman ,Michelle Ntalami,Kagwe Mungai ,Foi Wambui ,Stephanie Nganga ,Moses Wasike,Patrick Githinji( and Oliver (PR Consultants) amongst many others.
Overall, it was a lovely festival organized By Muthoni Drama Queen and her team who thanked her loyal supporters, business partners,vendors,fashion designers, friends, and super fans for their continuous dedication to ensuring Blankets and wine is the biggest and most anticipated event in Kenya.
Dj Shinski then took to the stage with a brilliant music mix of dancehall hits, afro-beats, dancehall, local and international modern and traditional songs, Genge tone and so on into the wee hours of the morning as revelers danced and sang their hearts out...truly magical experience and we look forward to the next Blankets and Wine event!
