Met Gala 2023: Celebrating a ‘Line of Beauty’

Karl Lagerfeld famous fashion legendary designer from New York City, is a man who stamped his foot in the showbiz and fashion industry back in the 90’s era and revolutionized the way we see and wear various fashion pieces (that literally turn heads).From making fashion collection for Fendi and Chanel to now having his most memorable garments from 2019 showcased at the Metropolitan Museum of Art recently at the Met Gala fashion dinner in New York City, he has managed to maintain his royal seat as one of the best fashion icons of our time. The Met Gala 2023 was one for fashion books, as Vogue Magazine team hosted one of the most anticipated annual fashion events on an international scale.
It was a star-studded affair as celebrities, entrepreneurs and high-profile media personalities like Anna Wintour and her husband were in attendance (Vogue Magazine Editor), Cardi B and husband Offset, Idris Elba and his wife, Serena Williams, and her husband,Burnaboy and Stormzy,Maluma,Gabrielle Union, Rihanna and Asap Rocky amongst many others. All these vvip special guests were treated to a scrumptious dinner, lots of red carpet memories and surprises by the likes of Lil Nas Janelle Monae(3D transformed outfit pulling a ‘Lady Gaga red carpet stunt),Doja Cat and Jared Leto who both dressed up like Chaupette (Karl Lagerfeld’s favorite pet cat),and a few other celebrities who decided to go against the norm and dress up not necessarily following the theme of the event but standing out boldly in their fashion statements outfits(this included Erykah Badu).
Those who decided to keep it classy, elegant and sophisticated were people like Jennifer Lopez in her Ralp Lauren body hugging gown and black netted fascinator head piece, Teyana Taylor who wore a corset body hugging skirt suite inspired by Michael Jackson, Karl Lagerfeld and Thom Browne(The Main Fashion Designer),Tommy Hilfiger and his wife, Donatella Versace and Vera Wang wearing their own unique head turning fashion attires, Tems and Burnaboy,Stormzy ,Mary J Blige plus Dr.Dre who all rocked Burberry in a very modern yet chic way. The after party followed and celebrities had even more daring, bold yet retro /modern /edgy outfits to showcase on the red carpet. It was a ‘magical night’ to remember full of pomp,glamour,glitz,drama,colors and excitement.

♦ Kim Kardashian and Sean P Diddy combs both wore very exclusive designs from Sean John fashion collection of 50,000 pearls with a bodycon Body suite designed by Schiaparelli that was quite a remarkable sight and a black frock fur coat with a black on black 3-piece suite and designer shoes from Sean john’s side.
♦ Lala Antony, Dua Lipa and Penelope Cruz were the official hosts for the evening and brought their A-game to the successful event.
♦ Rita Ora,Adut Akech, Naomi Campbell, Usher Raymond, Big Bunny, Pusha T,Jenna Ortega, Priyanka Chopra, Paris Hilton (who made a major comeback to the showbiz scene), The Beckham’s couple, Anne Hathaway plus Keri Washington were also in attendance at the Met Gala 2023.
