Media, social media influencers and fellow shareholders were recently treated to a media breakfast recently at the Tribe hotel. They heard speeches from the top bosses of the Tribal chic event and unveiled a few highlights to look forward to the main event on December 4 th. The guests dined and wined and were taken back into time when the tribe hotel was launched in Kenya up to date and were given deep insight into what led the management team to renovate the hotel and restructure the event concept to bring a different feel and experience for everyone who comes to the hotel very soon. There were also spa treatment packages as well as dinner for two at the hotel to be won during the question and answer/quiz session. The renovations are underway having begun last year once covid pandemic hit the country and the world at large. Few parts of the hotel will be ready in time for the event as stated by one of the managers of the hotel. Some of the greatest designers to grace the runway are Hernan Zajar from Colombia, Zanta Adeyede, Mambo Pambo, Peggie ‘O’, Deepa Dosaja, Amu, Mercedes Campuzano, Hekaya, Ennai, Ikwetta and Itikadi.The runway will also consist of three different themes that is ‘A Different World’, ‘Sustainably Trendy’ and ‘One Tribe Is Back’. There will also be a pop-up market where people can enjoy the ambience of the hotel as the shop for exceptional quality merchandise that whole weekend, during the event and after the event on the next day.
Expected to grace the occasion will be the Colombian Ambassador and there are expected to be Ted talks kind of workshops conducted by Anyiko Owoko and Brian Babu and this whole tribal experience will speak about diversity and a new world under construction. The Tribe runway will go through different spaces, using new and more sustainable elements like scaffolding structures with LED screen strips and lights that change videos and colors according to the moment of the night. This is the tribal management’s way of saying welcome back to the tribe hotel and be ready to be bedazzled on on one of Kenya’s biggest fashion events to ever grace this side of the Sahara full of pomp, color, fun, music, and surprises hosted by yours truly media personality Sheila Kwamboka aka Kwambox of Vybz Radio.
