Talent identification, opportunity and scholarship linking organization Worldwide Scholarships (WWS) will once again be heading to East Africa, allowing young athletes the opportunity to highlight their skills in front of talent and development scouts from some of the world’s foremost sporting organizations.

This multi-disciplinary talent scouting event has successfully run for the first time in Kenya in 2022 and is now gearing up for its second annual instalment set to take place in Nairobi Kenya 19 to 21 December 2022.

The camp offers opportunities for young African talent to highlight their skills and interact with top coaches and scouts in rugby/American Football, soccer, and basketball.

Foremost a developmental camp providing athletes with the opportunity to improve and develop their skills with the guidance and coaching from leading coaches from around the world, the WWS Scout Camp also provides young athletes with the stage to highlight their God given talents to top international agencies who will be scouting for talent to link promising young stars with scholarship opportunities.

WWS has strong working relationships with Lombardio Uno AC Milan Technical Centre and Italia Calcio Coaching. Paolo Gatti, former president of the Milan Coaches Association and responsible for the development of AC Milan Star Sandro Tonali, has been working with WWS throughout the year.

Another sporting code being featured at the scout camps this year is Basketball and the call is out for both young men and women to come and compete for the attention of none other than Todd Landrey. For more than two decades Landrey managed and ran the most successful and

sought-after youth development camp in the NBA, for the Philadelphia 76ers. Under his direction and mentorship, the 76ers’ development camps produced 27 NBA and WNBA stars.

“Todd will work with WWS to develop African basketball through talent identification and development, coach education and internships at both amateur and professional level. His experience in talent identification, assessments and trials is second to none and African players stand to receive help from his eye for talent and proven development method,” says CEO and Founder of WWS, Munya Maraire.

Joining the elite ensemble of coaches this year is one of the world's most well-known rugby legends and top fly halves in history to play in the game of rugby, Naas Botha. Still considered one of South Africa’s ‘Springbok Greats,’ Botha is no stranger to making the switch from his world class rugby talent to trying his hand at American Football after receiving an invitation from the American football team the Dallas Cowboys to try out as a placekicker.

“Having someone of Naas Botha’s calibre join us as the head coach of Rugby and American Football is truly an honor. WWS is always looking to supply the best opportunities for young aspiring athletes to learn and develop their skills, and to give them a fighting chance to break into the internationally competitive arena of sports. Being able to learn from a

legend such as Naas is the stuff dreams are made of and we are excited to bring those dreams to life at WWS Scout Camp 2022.” Maraire adds.

The WWS Scout Camps will be held at ABSA Sports in Nairobi, Kenya from 19 to 21 December 2022.
