The All American Beef Battalion supported the Soldiers of 3rd Battalion, 16th Artillery Regiment as part of the brigade’s deployment fair on Apr. 2. The Beef Battalion’s founder and Marine Vietnam War veteran, Mr. Bill Broadie, led the charge to Fort Carson. The organization cooked approximately 1,700 steaks and fed over 500 Thunder Warriors and Families. No one left hungry! The Beef Battalion has been serving Troops in the
greater mid-West for the past several years. On behalf of Command Sergeant Major Traylor and all our Soldiers, a thunderous thanks goes to the All American Beef Battalion for their generous support. Preparing and caring for our Families did not end with the deployment fair, though. Company G, 3rd Bn, 16th FA Reg. family day is scheduled for May 5 at the Iron Horse Park pavilion. There will be a bouncy house and face painting for the kids and beef hot dog, hamburgers, chips, cookies,
and drinks for all. We will have a sign-up sheet for volleyball, football, and softball. Our Families need to feel comfortable in knowing they are not alone during this deployment. We must count on each other to make it through challenging times. Getting to know each other in a friendly environment will bring our Families closer and make our Soldiers stronger. Rolling Thunder!

The 204th Brigade Support Battalion held a marriage retreat at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, March 11-13. Each quarter the 204th BSB Unit Ministry Team and Chaplain Capt. Joel Payne host a marriage retreat to assist families reconnect in a vacation-like atmosphere. The marriage retreats are centered on one common goal: assist couples in learning new techniques to open lines of communication. During this retreat, the couples learned how to “Laugh Their Way to a Better Marriage.” Based on the teachings of Mark Gungor, these very funny but poignant DVD lessons use comedy to bring up important issues that plague many marriages. As couples sat through these lessons, they were able to enjoy

Garden of the Gods Nature Experience and Seven Falls Nature Experience. Couples took advantage of the Broadmoor Estates by golfing on their world famous golf course that will be hosting the 2011 US Women Open later this spring. For the couples that preferred to relax, they indulged in a couples’ massage and spa treatment offered by the resort. Childcare was provided onsite for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
