A quarterly publication that is focused on informing the community of the social and spiritual aspect of life. Art of Living Community Church (AOLCC) is a 501c3 non-profit organization.

Getting to know AOLCC? The Art of Living Community Church (AOLCC) is a community conscious church that is focused on bridging the gap between the needs of man and the kingdom of God. They are committed to manifesting the power of Jesus Christ through biblical teachings that will empower all people to “live life the way God intended.” AOLCC plans to reach the community through worship, education, fellowship, and evangelism; and to teach the community how to live life by God’s design. The church has a powerful community outreach program. In the three (3) years of serving the community, AOLCC have implemented the following programs:  Homeless Program: feeding at Thanksgiving and issuing socks and blankets.  Family Outreach: provide social service, hair cuts, food, fun, and games.  Back-to-School: provide supplies, uniforms, books, hair cuts, and hair stylist for girls.  National Night Out: community awareness and crime/drug prevention  Health Awareness: provide information that effect and infect the residents in target audience.

From 2009 to present, the community outreach programs has been a tremendous success in reaching the less fortunate, informing the community, providing supplies and disseminating information in various ways:  Fed over 650 homeless individuals for Thanksgiving holiday.  Issued socks and blankets to 250 homeless individuals in December.  Provided school supplies, hair cuts, and hair stylist for at-risk children for back-to-school.  Reached over 1500 people every May for Family FUN Day.

The Soul Winning Action Team (SWAT) are doing what they do best, winning souls for Christ with a personal touch. Each month on a second Saturday morning the team is sharing the Word of God, praying for the people, and passing out water.

According to a count by the Coalition for the Homeless of Houston, May 2011 the homeless population in Harris and Fort Bend counties grew by 25%.

Just to name a few, SWAT activities consist of Chat-n-Chew, Senior Citizens Valentine Gala, Thanksgiving dinner to shelters, and Christmas socks and blankets giveaway to the homeless. The team is planning implement Drive-Thru Prayer and Prayer Station. SWAT is also preparing to expand their network of outreach to the community.

January 31 consumers found 8538 men, women, and children were homeless this year, compared with 6819 in 2010. There are 11,000 children and youth are homeless defined by McKinney-Vents Homeless Education Assistance Act.

Presently, SWAT is collecting 100 pair of socks and 100 blankets to give away to the homeless population in December. But, for the Thanksgiving holiday, this year the team will deliver a full course meal to two shelters and spend time with the residents. One member of the Art of Living Community Church stated, “We realize the severity of this epidemic and want to give back to families and individuals who are battling this plague of homelessness and hunger.� Written by Cherlyn Latham

The month of May the Art of Living Community Church annual Family Fun Day Carnival. The residents in the Sunnyside/South Park area of Houston are anticipating the free food, health screenings, social service information, entertainment, books and much, much more. Little Caesar's Pizza and Borden's donated food and drinks. The Events Committee welcome everyone to volunteer their service and time to assist the community in making this activity a success.
