THE WORLD IS A VAMPIRE Society is characterized by a fast, aggressive and chaotic way of development. It’s difficult to follow and understand what happens in different fields of power like economics, politics or technology. If we look closer, what we tend to see is exploitation, business priorities, inequalities, appearance and routine as an illusion of freedom. Skateboarding has also been influenced by this kind of development but still has an ethic based on respect, support, d.i.y. action and friendship. Since the beginning, this ethic is what influenced the Warriors family and today it still pushes them as a crew and as a skateboard brand being part of it. Experience has come with improvements and growth as well as with the idea that skateboarding, in many ways, should spread a positive message and a lifestyle that can help you to not get lost in this vampire world. We all have a right to a safe and healthy work environment, a living wage, a legally binding contract. We all have a right to be free from discrimination and harassment, to join - or not to join a labour union, to choose our work freely. We all have a right to fair and reasonable working hours. And our children have a right to go to school.
The proportion of Continental's manufacturing facilities engaged in the FWF audit and monitoring programme is 100%. The Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) works to improve labour conditions in the garment industry.
• No use of child labour
Companies that become members of FWF and sign the Code of Conduct take on the obligation to adhere to the labour standards in their own business operations. They also accept the duty to do everything possible to get other companies in their chain (e.g. suppliers) to respect these labour standards.
• No use of forced labour
FWF is governed by the following organisations:
• Safe and healthy working conditions
• Modint (business association for manufacturers and distributors of fashion, interior design, carpets and textiles)
Our producer has adopted a Zero Tolerance policy with regard to the following minimum social responsibility criteria:
• Legal labour contracts • Payment of living wage • Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining • No discrimination against employeesNo excessive hours of work Our producer has been running a pro-active social responsibility programme since early 2006. All the producer's manufacturing facilities have been audited for social compliance and are running active monitoring programmes in accordance with standards advocated by the International Labour Organisation, the Ethical Trading Initiative and other international bodies. These are in addition to other compliance certifications, such as SA8000, BSCI, SAFE, GOTS, etc. Ethical Manufacturing & Justice for Workers Pressure to produce quickly increasing quantities of cheap textiles has led the apparel industry to allow some of the most unethical trade practices on the planet, worst examples include child labour - bonded child labour, excessive working hours – twelve hours a day – seven days a week, unsafe, unhygienic working conditions. To ensure that our producer does not contribute to the social injustice seen in manufacturing, commonly known as sweatshop labour, even unwittingly, since 2006 we have made transparent our manufacturing supply chain with independent audits by the non-profit NGO the ‘Fair Wear Foundation’. The Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) exists to promote fair labour conditions in the garment industry worldwide. Our producer has undersigned the FWF's Code of Labour practices, and thereby has committed ourselves to monitor the factories of our suppliers, and the Fair Wear Foundation verifies that the Code of Labour Practices is implemented and respected at the factories.

An increasing number of its products is certified organic. Furthermore, new product lines are being introduced that contain organic-in-conversion cotton, thus helping conventional cotton farmers in the crucial period of transition to organic agriculture. The Company's long-term aim is to produce all its products in organic cotton. Our producer is licensed by the Soil Association and the Control Union, to supply fully certified organic products in accordance with the Global Organic Textile Standard. The Company also holds a licence to use the Soil Association Organic Standard logo on products that meet the organic standard criteria. All the certified products that are sold 'unprocessed', that is without printing, can carry the logo. Garments that are printed according to the organic standard can also carry the organic standard logo at the point of sale.
