After Hours Fishing Pass After Hours Fishing Passes are available free of cost for fishing in the parks after normal operating hours. You may register for a fishing pass at the Central Park Office, 117 E. Canal Street, during normal business hours. Passes do not require renewal unless you move or your personal information has changed. You must have your pass with you at all times when fishing on park property after hours. These passes do not replace stateissued fishing licenses.

Refunds: The Warsaw Parks & Recreation Department’s Program Refund Policy is available on our website and on the registration form. The Gardens of Central Park Northeast End of Central Park Open April through October

Warsaw Biblical Gardens Bixler Park Open May 15 to September 15, Dawn to Dusk The Bible’s story begins with a garden and ends with a vision of trees bearing fruit. The Warsaw Biblical Gardens, situated on approximately 3/4 acre, currently contains over 100 plants that are named in the Bible. A diversity of climates can be found in the Holy Land, which allows for most of its plants to be grown somewhere in the United States. For more information, call (574) 267-6218.

The Gardens of Central Park are the culmination of Robert and Roma Maish’s dream to create a perennial garden for Kosciusko County and its visitors. Made possible through an endowment fund established by the Maishes through the Kosciusko County Community Foundation, the Gardens contain over 160 perennial flowers, shrubs, and grasses. The facility is ADA accessible and offers a variety of blossoms, colors, and a fish pond. For more information, contact the Kosciusko County Community Foundation at (574) 267-1901.

Facility Rentals All rental facilities & equipment managed by Warsaw Parks & Recreation Department must be reserved in advance. Each facility may be reserved up to one year in advance. All rental building are alcohol- and smoke-free. Rental fees are subject to applicable sales tax. For information, pricing, availability, or rules/ regulations, please call the Central Park Office at (574) 372-9554 ext. 8221.

Building Rentals Center Lake Pavilion - 119 E. Canal St. With seating for 300, this is the largest rental facility available with Warsaw Parks & Recreation Department. Amenities include kitchen, PA system, coffee makers, stages, tables, and chairs. Handicapped accessible.

Nye Youth Cabin - 357 N. Buffalo St. Also known as the Scout Cabin, this facility seats 70. Amenities include kitchen, tables, and chairs. Handicapped accessible.

Firemen’s Building - 1013 E. Arthur St. This mid-sized building seats up to 100. Amenities include kitchen, tables, and chairs. Handicapped accessible.

Shelter Rentals Central Park Open Shelters

Perfect for family reunions or a casual picnic. East & West shelters are both available for reservation and include six picnic tables that seat 8 - 10 people each. Fees are $25 per shelter plus tax. Handicapped accessible. Other Open Shelters: Beyer, Bixler, Kelly, Kiwanis, & Richardson-DuBois Parks. Accommodations vary. Fees are $25 each plus tax. Call for details.

Lucerne Shelters - 800 N. Park Avenue

Four stone enclosed shelters, seat 40-50 people each. Fee is $25 each plus tax. The amphitheater is available with electricity for an additional $10 plus tax. Shelter #3 is handicapped accessible.


Central Park Plaza - 225 E. Fort Wayne St.

Reserve the Plaza for weddings, concerts, and more. Seats 500 people. Fee is $100 plus refundable damage deposit of $250. Handicapped accessible.

Pete Thorn Center Gymnasium

May be reserved by the hour on Saturdays or Sundays for athletic uses only. Gym capacity is 260 people. Rental is $40 per hour plus refundable damage deposit of $100. Please call for additional information about fees and rules/regulations. May be reserved in select parks for weekends and holidays during the summer for $2 each plus tax. When available, they may be delivered to your site for a flat rate of $5 each plus tax within city limits or $8 each plus tax outside city limits, but within Wayne Township.

Sawhorse Tables (April 15 - October 1) May be reserved for garage sales during the summer. When available, reserved tables are $3 each plus tax within city limits or $5 each plus tax outside city limits, but within Wayne Township.

Community Events Kids’ Fishing Derby Saturday, June 3 | 8:00 - 11:30 a.m. Municipal Park (near Center Lake Park) Celebrate National Fishing Week with the kids! Prizes awarded for the biggest fish and more for various age groups (3-16 years old). The first 100 kids will receive a gift bag (does not include fishing pole). You may register beginning May 30 or the morning of the event at the park. Participants must bring their own pole and bait (catch and release fishing only).

This free, fun community event gives the young, and young at heart, an opportunity to touch, explore, and see their favorite trucks or equipment up close and personal.

Light Up The Night Friday, December 1 | 6:30-8:30 p.m. Celebrate the first lighting of the Central Park Holiday Light Display. Children will receive glow necklaces while supplies last. Santa & Mrs. Claus will ride in the First Friday Twinkle Parade and stop at the Center Lake Pavilion, where they will visit with children inside. Wildlife Explorers Wednesdays, June 7 - July 12 2:30-3:30 p.m., Lucerne Park Ages 6-12, $25 per child for 6 sessions Discover nature in local parks! This fun, fastpaced, interactive 6-week program from the National Recreation & Park Association is designed to connect youth to nature by encouraging exploration through experiments, activities, and crafts.

Lego Mania! Monday, June 26 | 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. Pete Thorn Center Gymnasium Ages 5-12, $5 per child. Register by June 23, Min. 10/Max. 30 Everything Lego! Visit all the different stations with crafts, games, snacks, and, of course, open building stations! Great for any child!

Beach Bash! Tuesday, August 1 | 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Center Lake Beach (East side of the pier, behind Pavilion) Ages 6-12 Come dressed to get wet at our Luau themed party! Join our staff for crazy water games and activities at the beach. We’ll have everything you need for some beat-the-heat fun! Parent involvement is not required, but parents should be present during this program.

Each year, Young Tigers serves almost 200 Warsaw boys and girls and provides over 14,000 hours of youth development to the community. Young Tigers youth development focuses on children ages 7-12 to promote athletics, player safety, leadership skills, and community service participation. Bowling Tour Thursdays, 1:00 p.m. June 8, June 22, June 29, July 13, July 27 $10/week or $45 for all 5 weeks (all fees included) A fun opportunity for ages 7-17 to make friends while learning a new activity or polishing up existing skills. Participants will be broken up into skill levels for scoring. Awards will be given each week and overall points earned during the tour.

Mantis Skate Park 400 Little League Drive (Boggs Campus) Mantis Skate Park is a fully-supervised, familyfriendly skate facility for all ages, elementary students through adults. The park was proudly renovated in 2008 with a new Rhino ramp system thanks to support from the K21 Health Foundation. Skateboards and inline skates are welcome. Helmets are required at all times. ANNUAL WAIVER AND EMERGENCY CONTACT FORMS MUST BE ON FILE TO SKATE.

Intermediate/Advanced: Improve your fly casting accuracy and learn how to increase your distance with a variety of drills as well as specially-made targets designed to make you a better fly fisher. Minimum age is 11, and all equipment will be supplied. Prerequisite: Must be able to comfortably cast a distance of at least 35 feet and have actively fly fished for at least a year. Maximum of 2 participants.
