to free activities for everyone, with the Sculpture Park, free concerts, Family Sundays and Workshop Wednesdays. Our popular Jazz Fridays and Open Mic sessions continue, while our gallery remains free entry too - with Phantom Sculpture offering an exciting way to look at contemporary sculpture and the return of the open studio space where you can make your own work.
We’re also pleased to bring you two Exhibition On Screen events, Klimt and the Kiss and the wonderful Vermeer: The Greatest Exhibition, a major retrospective of Vermeer masterpieces curated by the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
Meanwhile, our live programme welcomes the return of two Warwick alumni companies, Bertrand Lesca and Nasi Voutsas (Bert & Nasi) and Emergency Chorus, and don’t miss the ever-popular James Wilton Dance
We are also delighted to welcome Caleb Femi the poet, film-maker, photographer and former Young People’s Laureate for London.
As always there’s much more to enjoy from The Gruffalo (the perfect Christmas treat!) to a string of ‘national treasures’, including Lucy Worsley, Prof. Brian Cox, Rev. Richard Coles and John Lydon. Plus a chance to experience two 21st century legends, John Grant and Richard Hawley, celebrating the songs of the iconic Patsy Cline.
We open our orchestral series with the welcome return of Chineke! Orchestra and our Lunchtime Concerts with mezzo-soprano Suzie Purkis & Flora McNicoll (cello), pianist Michael Higgins and Senegalese Kora player Kadialy Kouyate. I’m also excited to announce the Warwick Arts Centre debut of Symphony Orchestra of India with pianist Pavel Kolesnikov. And we end the year with The Hallé Christmas Concert!
We’ve refreshed our climate festival and this year we look forward to welcoming everyone to our family friendly Planting Roots Festival with workshops, discussion, performance and much more.
And don’t forget our cinemas. Home to not only those big Hollywood blockbusters, but also the only venue in Warwickshire where you’ll find a selection of the very best films from around the world.

Artists in conversation:
RICHARD DEACON AND OLIVIA BAX
Wed 8 Nov 6.30pm
These two important artists will discuss the questions they explore in their practice and share their perspectives on contemporary sculpture.
Richard Deacon (b. 1949) is one of the foremost sculptors of his generation, best known for his expansive, lyrical forms. His major sculpture Let’s Not Be Stupid sits opposite Warwick Arts Centre.
Olivia Bax (b. 1988) worked as a studio assistant to Anthony Caro. Her work brings together found and made objects to create sculptures that interrogate their own forms as well as the spaces they hold.

MEET MOVIES IN
Join us in our cinemas this autumn for the best of Cannes Film Festival, novel adaptations and eagerly anticipated next chapters.
Kenneth Branagh returns as Director and detective in the next Poirot mystery, A Haunting in Venice, with a stellar ensemble cast including recent Oscar Winner Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once). Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues with The Marvels where Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) finds her powers are entangled with some familiar faces.
Premiering at this year’s Cannes Film Festival to a nine-minute standing ovation was Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon. Bringing together frequent collaborators Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro, Scorsese’s epic details the murders of the Osage Tribe in 1920s America, sparking a major F.B.I. investigation. Nominated for the prestigious Palme d’Or, Ken Loach’s (I, Daniel Blake) final film The Old Oak sees a landlord cling to the last pub standing in a once thriving mining community as tensions rise after the arrival of Syrian refugees. And there will be plenty more to come too including our NT Live and Met Opera programmes alongside classic movies, documentaries and much more.
Warwick Arts Centre is pleased to work with the Independent Cinema Office in support of our programming, film selection and marketing. The Independent Cinema Office is a charity that aims to bring a wider range of films to a wider range of people, so people can access amazing film culture wherever they are in the UK.

PLAYING OUT IN CANLEY
Playing Out in Canley is a collaborative project between Canley residents and Warwick Arts Centre designed for and by participants of all ages.
This year artists Jane Thakoordin, Niall Singh, Frankie Robson, Navkiran Kaur Mann and Dave Barrett are leading weekly creative workshops across visual arts, movement, poetry and music. Social historian Ruth Cherrington has been documenting the project and gathering stories and memories of Canley.
The project culminates this autumn with a free outdoor cinema in Prior Deram Park and a new community commission with Assemble Studio.
If you live in Canley and want to find out more, please email creativelearning@warwick.ac.uk

THE CLASSROOM OF CREATIVITY
This project brings artists, teachers, pupils and educators together to design creative activities and digital resources.
The project enables a shared and collaborative learning, with the collective aim to embed creativity into the curriculum whether that be at school, home, or the arts centre.
During Autumn we will work with 4 partner schools in Coventry to create a new learning resource linked to our Phantom Sculpture exhibition in the Mead Gallery, with a series of workshops and gallery visits.
