Aside from being a cultural event, Warwick Malaysia Night is the culmination of many months of hard work, ambition, belief and excitement by more than 100 of our members, adding up to one of the most unforgettable displays of Malaysian culture in the UK. Get your tickets via Warwick Arts Centre or the booths around campus to be in with a chance of winning a trip to Portugal!

real ale festival 2012

Warwick University Real Ale Society Presents

THE 33RD ANNUAL

REAL ALE FESTIVAL

WEEK 6: THU 16TH - SAT 19TH FEB Week 6 sees the return of the annual Real Ale Festival, which has become one of the most popular events on campus. This year it is bigger and better than ever before, with a massive 100-plus beers available - there will also be real ciders, sumptuous fruit wines and turbo purple, while a suitably large hog roast will provide the perfect accompaniment! Each night will also feature live entertainment - on the Thursday, the legendary Dr Busker will be back to open the festival with a bang in his own amiable and crude fashion, while University bands will provide a suitably rousing soundtrack on Friday and Saturday. As might be expected from one of the highlights of the SU calendar, last year’s event completely sold out, so make sure you get there early to avoid disappointment – each day opens at 6pm and runs ’til late. Whether you are a seasoned ale drinker or just want to try some new tipples in a cracking atmosphere, do come along as it promises to be a fantastic event! For more info and to view photos from last year, visit our website!

People & Planet society’s annual Go Green Week takes place in Week 7 this term, showcasing the work of Warwick students who combine skills with youthful zeal to tackle the biggest challenge of our generation: climate change. Throughout the week, they’ll be hosting a series of talks, debates, workshops and film screenings to educate students about issues relating to climate change and provide a platform for intellectual discussion. In previous years, Go Green pressure has led to big wins at the University, such as the creation of an Environmental Manager and environmental audit, recycling across campus, increased car parking charges, the removal of printer header paper and the removal of plastic bags from Costcutter.

With new favourites Techno Fan, Anti-D and 1996 taking their place alongside classics like Let’s Dance to Joy Division and Backfire at the Disco in their live set, expect this to be a night of catchy tunes and highspirited guitar-pop hi-jinks. Support comes from The Static Jacks.
