intro • news in brief • gum clinic - tuesday week 4
This term we are once again running the annual ‘Feel Good’ Campaign. Although students do experience stress and anxiety around exams and coursework all year round, there's a concentration of academic pressure with finals in the Summer term – meaning that students need more support more frequently. Feel Good has its own dedicated webpage on the SU website with resources and information about the support available on campus, along with top tips to stay happy and healthy throughout the term ahead. Why not pick up a handy Feel Good guide from the SU? In addition, throughout Term 3 The Bread Oven is offering special Feel Good baguettes, while Curiositea has a Superfood menu. Make sure you check them out! We are also running special drop in sessions with the NHS to offer exam support for exam stress and anxiety. Finally, check out my blog each week, as we go through each ‘Feel Good Factor’ in a bit more detail. As ever, if you need any more information, or just want to have a chat, please get in touch via welfare@warwicksu.com. Ben Sundell WELFARE OFFICER

tuesday week 4 The mobile GUM Clinic returns to the SU in Week 2, giving you a free chance to get yourself checked out for sexuallytransmitted infections. Whether you’ve had unprotected sex recently or simply fancy getting a clean bill of sexual health, this is an ideal opportunity to do so without having to arrange an appointment at one of the local health centres. It’s free, non-invasive, confidential and there’s no need to book in advance - just drop in on the day and you’ll be seen. The clinic will be held from 12pm - 6pm on Tuesday Week 4 in Meeting Rooms 4 & 5 of SUHQ.

FEEL GOOD CAMPAIGN | TERM 3
Feel Good was set up to provide extra support and help for students around exam times. Although you may experience stress and anxiety all year-round, there is a concentration of academic pressure with finals in the Summer Term - which means that more students need more support more frequently. This year our Feel Good campaign has its own dedicated webpage - www.warwicksu.com/feelgood - a one-stop-shop for all of the advice, welfare and resources your SU can throw at you! It is broken down into different ‘Feel Good Factors’ along with useful contact details , so do have a check through all of it to make sure you look after yourself this term! This fortnight’s Feel Good Factors are as follows:

FEEL GOOD FACTOR
FEEL GOOD FACTOR
Exercise It’s crucial that you don’t spend all day cooped up in the library or elsewhere studying - fresh air and exercise are key to feeling good, improving your mental health and making your revision and studying more effective. You don’t have to be a gym guru to get the exercise you need!
iapt COURSES
Tuesdays at 1:30pm
Don’t forget, the NHS will also be running their weekly Anxiety, Low Mood & Exam Stress-Management courses each Tuesday in MR6 - these are free sessions where you can learn cognitive behavioural techniques to help you take control of your revision process and maintain good mental health. There are still a few places available* – to book yourself in, email welfare@warwicksu.com!
Exam Tips Handy hints for making sure that you revise effectively (and don’t procrastinate while doing so!), as well as important things to remember for before, during and after the exam itself. Don’t forget that if you feel like you can’t cope for any reason, the SU offers a free advice service, which is based in the Student Advice Centre on the top floor of SUHQ. It’s always best to phone ahead to make an appointment - you can contact them via: advice@warwicksu.com 02476 572824 2nd Floor of SUHQ 9am - 4pm | Monday to Thursday 9am - 3pm | Fridays

all student meeting • pool special offer • have your say
Monday Week 4 Every student has an equal voice - this is the key principle underlying Warwick Students’ Union’s democratic structures. The All Student Meeting is a chance for any student to have their voice heard and to vote on policies they want to see implemented in the future.
have your say feedback@warwicksu.com
you say... How come tickets for the Grad Ball cost £69?
So why not take a short break from revision to attend the next All Student Meeting, which is being held on Monday Week 4 from 5:30pm in the Atrium. Bring your flatmates, bring your coursemates, bring your lecturer!
we say...
Grab a pint from The Terrace Bar if you wish, take a seat on the floor and watch democracy in action. Voting on the individual motions will occur online, where you will also be able to see what’s up for discussion.
Put simply, because that’s what it costs us to put the event on! However, with a 5-course meal, spectacular décor and a full entertainment line-up, we promise that it WILL be worth it.
Don’t let decisions be made on your behalf - vote in the All Student Meeting.
Monday Week 4 | SU Atrium | 5:30pm www.warwicksu.com/democracy
you say... Does my Summer Party guest have to be over-18 to attend?
we say... No, they’re welcome to come along – however, you will be responsible for them throughout the day, and obviously ID checks will be in operation! Each student can bring up to 4 guests with them.
