intro • news in brief • spring bank holiday opening hours

Hello! Welcome to Weeks 5 and 6 – or, you could call it 'the home straight'.

news in brief SU BBQ!

To kick things off, Week 5 is Vegetarian Week! For those of you who prefer a salad to a steak, ensure you head up to Xananas and get your fill of the many specials available.

Summer is almost here - and that means that the Students’ Union’s very own Barbeque will make a welcome return to the Piazza!

A massive congratulations to those of you who have or are about to finish your exams. Have a brilliant summer, and best of luck to any finalists heading out into the world of work! To those of you who are getting jealous over in the Library, don’t worry as there’s not long left - make sure you eat healthily, get enough sleep and don’t panic!

Head down to the Piazza at lunchtimes and grab yourself some grill – we’ll out there on weekdays whenever the sun shines!

Personally, I’ll be leaving the Union after Week 7, so if you have any issues or education questions, please remember there’s Anna and Nick as well as the Student Advice Centre still available. I also want to say thank you to all the students and staff who’ve made this year such an amazing experience for me. Good luck particularly to Erin, and I hope you have a great end of Term 3! James Entwistle EDUCATION OFFICER

Our cooks will be heating up the charcoals and offering a sizzling array of meat and non-meat options, all flame-grilled before your very eyes for that succulent summer taste.

social enterprise ‘mentor on the move’ - thurs wk 5 A social enterprise is any business idea underpinned by an ethos which benefits the local community in which it’s based. Here at the SU we’ve been running our very own Ernst & Young-sponsored project over the last few terms. We have a special session taking place on Thursday 23rd May in Meetings Rooms 4/5 of SUHQ between 2-3pm. Come along and find out more about social enterprise, get your hands on some free frozen yoghurt and network with local entrepreneurs!

iapt drop-in sessions Following on from their dedicated courses during the first half of term, the NHS will be running a series of drop-in sessions throughout Weeks 5-6 specialising in Anxiety, Low Mood and Exam Stress-Management. These are free sessions which everyone’s welcome to come along to – they take place from 1:30pm on Tuesdays in Meeting Room 6!

Meeting results online The results of the online vote from last week’s All Student Meeting are now up at www.warwicksu.com – head over to see how the student body here at Warwick voted on a range of issues submitted by you!

spring bank holiday opening hours Monday 27th May (Week 6) is the second of two Bank Holiday Mondays this month. As per the Spring Bank Holiday in Week 3, SUHQ and The Terrace Bar will be closed for the day. However, don’t despair if you want to grab a coffee, meal, pub lunch or pint - Curiositea, Xananas, The Bread Oven and The Dirty Duck will all be open as per usual! Full details of all of the opening hours can be found online at www.warwicksu.com.
