Sabb Blab Hey everyone! Hope you’ve had a fantastic start to the year and are enjoying everything that Term 2 has to offer. A massive thank you to everybody who came to the Refreshers Fair in Week 2 - it was brilliant to see so many societies and sports clubs showcasing themselves, and demonstrated that it really is never too late to try something different! It’s an incredibly exciting time to be at Warwick as the 20th anniversary of One World Week is on the horizon. With a fashion show, sports contests, forums, conferences and more from Monday 26th to Saturday 31st January, the festival really does encapsulate the international focus of Warwick and helps brings everyone together!

Plus, who can forget Varsity? Our finest sportspeople are attempting to conquer our arch-rivals Coventry in another landmark year – the 25th anniversary. We have won Varsity every single year, and with so much riding on the 2015 edition, there are no plans to break that habit! Starting with the Basketball opener at Coventry City Sports Centre on 30th January, it’ll be a week of frantic action and, hopefully, glory! - ISAAC LEIGH

news in brief Ticketing issues Sincere apologies once again to anyone who experienced problems when attempting to buy tickets when Term 2 events went on sale – we’ve since upgraded our operating system and moved both this and the SU website to brand new dedicated servers, which should hopefully prevent a repeat of this situation in the future. As per your feedback, we’ll also be staggering the on-sale date of popular events to try and prevent more traffic than is necessary. Obviously, we don’t want a medal for any of this – we just want it to work!

PPE presents Shami Chakrabarti: On Liberty – Tuesday Week 3 On 20th January at 7pm in MS.01, PPE Society are excited to welcome what The Sun called “The Most Dangerous Woman in Britain”. Speaking about her book (which describes her personal and political perspectives on Human Rights since she joined Liberty the day before 9/11), Shami will also be answering questions after the talk. Join PPE for this special address mixing Politics, Law and Philosophy, with free pizza and a special book signing after the event!

Vintage Fair – Thursday Week 3 University Vintage Fairs will make a welcome return to the SU on 22nd January – come along to the Atrium from 11am-4pm to get your hands on more affordable, on-trend vintage fashion for guys and girls! Want to see your society event featured in a future issue? Email chris.carter@warwicksu.com with all the details!

Reflecting the diversity of cultures and opportunities on campus, it aims to give students the opportunity to showcase their efforts while encouraging them to reflect on issues that affect our world.

Professor Green Saturday 24th January

On Saturday of Week 3, we’ll be joined by one of Britain’s finest MCs, Professor Green, for a special one-off live show in The Copper Rooms. Professor Green has released two full-length studio albums on Virgin Records, and previously topped the UK singles chart with Read All About It in 2011. As well as winning awards for Breakthrough Artist Of The Year (BT Digital Music Awards 2010), Best Hip-Hop/Grime Act (MOBO Awards 2010) and Best Dancefloor Filler (Jungle - NME Awards 2012), the Professor has also been nominated for a number of other major trophies including the 2012 Brit Award for Best British Male. Support comes from the awesome Mike Dignam, who absolutely killed it at the Freshers Party with his charismatic mix of acoustic originals and reinventions of recent chart hits. Tickets cost £12 - don’t miss out on what is sure to be one of the year’s live highlights here at the SU!

The biggest event in the American sporting calendar is almost upon us and, as always, you’ll be able to catch all the action live on the big screen right here at the Students’ Union! At the time of writing, the final play-off line-up is still to be determined – however, we can confirm that this year’s half-time show comes courtesy of the one and only Katy Perry. She’s got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire (etc etc)… As usual, The Terrace Bar will have drinks promos throughout the night, while The Bread Oven will also be cooking up some tasty American-style snacks to munch on - there’ll even be personal table-service available, so there’s no need to leave your seat!
