Sabb Blab So, we’ve hit Weeks 7 and 8! If you’re an undergraduate, hopefully the end of your time in the Library is getting nearer and you (and, optimistically, the sun!) are getting ready for a big Summer Party celebration. If you’re a Masters student – well, the end of that dissertation or project might seem a long way away. If you need a bit of help, the Postgraduate Hub are running a whole raft of sessions ranging from Speed Reading and Referencing to Indoor Yoga and 1:1 chats with the Wellbeing Advisor. Take a look at their website for more details!

Whatever you’re up to work-wise, remember to take some time out to relax and enjoy yourself. We’ll be showing the World Cup live from Week 8 – because let’s face it, nothing says ‘peace and quiet’ like screaming “FOUUUUUL, REF!” at the Big Screen. Just try not to spill your pint, eh? Good luck! - LUCY GILL

WORLD CUP 2014 “It’s coming home, it’s coming – football’s coming home…” Well, if you live in Brazil it is, at least – but let that not trample all over the fact that we’ll be celebrating one of earth’s greatest sporting events throughout June and July as the mighty F I FA Wo r l d Cu p rears its head once again! As is customary, we’ll be showing the majority of matches live in various venues across the SU – keep an eye on the SU website for the full schedule coming soon. In the meantime, we’ll be firing on all cylinders for England’s qualifying group fixtures, which are scheduled as follows: England vs. Italy Saturday 14th June, kick-off 11pm England vs. Uruguay Thursday 19th June, kick-off 8pm England vs. Costa Rica Tuesday 24th June, kick-off 5pm

(In case anyone was wondering what this means for Week 8’s Skool Dayz, this will be taking place a day earlier than usual on Friday 13th June!) Make sure though that you come along and enjoy the games in what is officially the best atmosphere on campus - there’ll even be a themed Wo r l d Cu p Me nu in Xananas and The Dirty Duck during Weeks 9 & 10, plus specials at The Bread Oven!

WWW.WARWICKSU.COM/SUMMER This is a special fundraising event and all proceeds go back into Union activities

On Saturday of Week 7, our much-loved alternative night will be throwing open the gates of democracy and asking YOU to pick your favourite rocking tunes from the past 3 terms’ events. This is always one of the most enjoyable shindigs of the academic year, and a highlight of the Term 3 calendar – particularly so this year given the line-up of RIDICULOUS tunes that have set punters’ larynxes a-wailing throughout the year (Foreigner’s I Wanna Know What Love Is, anyone…?) All you need to do to cast your vote is search for the ‘Crash Top 40 2014’ page on Facebook, pick your FIVE favourite tracks from the shortlist on the ‘About’ link, then post them as a comment on the timeline. Our resident chimp (Carter) will tally up the votes and then play through the countdown in all its glory from #40 right through to #1 on the night. Whatever comes out on top, one thing’s for certain: it really is set to be an absolute monster…

Room 2, Saturday 7th June, 10pm-2am
