SBDC SPOTLIGHT

Mary Cambruzzi

Owner of Found — ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN

What started as a hobby for Mary Cambruzzi evolved into a booming retail business. Creating a space that sold work by local artists, vintage finds and pieces made with reclaimed materials, Found opened in 2005. With a deep passion and a little help, Found has endured. Cambruzzi works closely with Ron Stevens, associate regional director and business consultant at the MI-SBDC Greater Washtenaw Region, based at WCC, building strategies for growth, annual budgeting, retail and training practices, and staffing plans—which has helped her sales triple over the years. “Ron was instrumental when we were looking at spaces. He helped us understand the financial breakdown from a lens of what we needed to sell to be a sustainable retail business,” says Cambruzzi. “The most challenging part was managing the build-out and securing loans. Ron guided us through these aspects of the expansion. “Found has really become an important part of the neighborhood, as a destination for locals and people from all over the region,” says Cambruzzi.
