The Briggait Glasgow

The Briggait Glasgow Saturday 2nd October 11am – 5pm Sunday 3rd October 12pm – 5pm The Briggait | 141 Bridgegate | Glasgow | G1 5HZ The newly redeveloped Briggait was relaunched in July and this is the first time it will be opened as part of this event. Over 20 artists will open their spaces to the public. Directions: The Briggait is in Glasgow city centre and is around 10 minutes walk from Queen Street Station. Just walk diagonally across George Square then down Miller Street into Ingram Street. Turn right onto Stockwell Street and keep walking until you see The Briggait on your left hand side. Alternatively, many bus routes that cross the river to the south of the city from Buchanan Street bus station stop on Stockwell Street. We are also directly next to the main cycle path that follows the River Clyde. Accessibility: The Briggait is fully accessible. Car parking is available directly across the road on King Street car park.

Hanson Street Glasgow

Hanson Street Glasgow Saturday 2nd October 11am – 5pm Sunday 3rd October 12pm – 5pm 77 Hanson Street | Dennistoun | Glasgow | G31 2HF Housed in the former John Player tobacco factory, over 40 artists will be displaying work in their studios as well as in the ceramic and stained glass workshop spaces. Directions: Buses 38, 42, 138 from outside Queen Street Station to Alexandra Parade. Get off at the stop after Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Hanson Street is the next street on the right. Alternatively, the studios are a 20-25 minute walk from the city centre. From George Square walk up to Cathedral Street and continue until you reach the Cathedral and Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI). Follow the road to the left around GRI onto Alexandra Parade. Hanson Street Studios is the first building on your right after the GRI. Accessibility: The Hanson Street studio building is fully accessible. Car parking is free, with disabled parking spaces available.
West Park Place Edinburgh

West Park Place Edinburgh Saturday 2nd October 11am – 5pm Sunday 3rd October 12pm – 5pm 2-3 West Park Place | Dalry | Edinburgh | EH11 2DP Around 40 artists will be opening their doors this year as well as creating a cafe and exhibition space at the entrance to the studios. Directions: Buses 3, 33, 4, 44 from Princes Street to Dalry Road. Get off at Sommerfield Supermarket and walk back up Dalry Road. The turning for West Park Place is on the same side of the street as Sommerfield. Alternatively, catch the bus or train to Haymarket and the studios are a 10 minute walk at most. Accessibility: West Park Place is a warren of studios over a number of floors. Unfortunately there is only limited lift access and some of the flooring is carpeted. Visitors with disability will therefore require assistance.
Albion Road Edinburgh

Albion Road Edinburgh Saturday 2nd October 11am – 5pm Sunday 3rd October 12pm – 5pm Albion Road Business Centre 78 Albion Road | Leith | Edinburgh | EH7 5QZ Albion Road is a well known cluster of creative businesses in Leith. Around 15 artists will be opening their doors and there will also be a wood carving demonstration. Directions: Buses 4, 44, 26 or 34 from Princes Street to London Road - get off at the church on the corner of Easter Road. Albion Road is the fourth turning on the right walking down Easter Road. On foot you can also walk down Bothwell Street (3rd turning on right) over the bridge and you will come out half way along Albion Road. Turn right and you will shortly see the studios. Buses 22, 16, 11 and 25 run from Princes Street to Leith Walk - get off opposite a small Tesco’s and it is a ten minute walk along Brunswick Road, then turn left and Albion Road is the first on your right. The studios are situated within the Albion Road Business Centre, you will see a large 78 on the gate posts. It will be clearly signposted from there. Accessibility: The studios are on the 1st and 2nd floor and unfortunately there is no lift access in the building. The entrance stairwell is also narrow. Visitors with disability may require assistance.
Patriothall Edinburgh

Patriothall Edinburgh Saturday 2nd October 11am – 5pm Sunday 3rd October 12pm – 5pm Patriothall Studios & Gallery 48A Hamilton Place | Stockbridge | Edinburgh | EH3 5AY Patriothall studios – a former bakery in Stockbridge – houses around 35 artists studio spaces and a popular gallery space. Directions: 29 bus from Princes Street to Hamilton Place or 10 minute walk from Princes Street. On Hamilton Place, walk through the vennel next to Alldays – opposite Stockbridge Library - to locate the building entrance. City Centre location. Car parking situated on King Street (pay and display). Accessibility: There is lift access to the upper floors but visitors with disability may require assistance.
Meadow Mill Dundee

Meadow Mill Dundee Saturday 2nd October 11am – 5pm Sunday 3rd October 12pm – 5pm Meadow Mill | West Hendersons Wynd | Dundee | DD1 5BY A former jute mill in Blackness, this is the last opportunity to see Meadow Mill in its current state before the studios are redeveloped. Directions: 10 minute walk from the Overgate in Dundee. By car or on foot, follow the signs to Verdant Works and Meadow Mill Studios are next door. There is free car parking. Accessibility: Meadow Mill is a former jute mill and the studios are located on the 2nd and 3rd floor with 50-60 steps between floors. Unfortunately there is no lift access and visitors with mobility impairments will require assistance.
St Mary’s Mill Selkirk

St Mary’s Mill Selkirk Saturday 2nd October 11am – 5pm Sunday 3rd October 12pm – 5pm Unit 1 | St Mary’s Mill | Selkirk | TD7 5EW Artists in St Mary’s Mill will be opening their spaces, creating an exhibition space and running a drawing workshop. There will also be live music. Directions: The Studios are tucked away within a business estate. Follow the map to Selkirk Glass and once there follow the signposts for the Library Headquarters. St Mary’s Mill is next door. There is free car parking available. Accessibility: There is a small set of steps and a ramp leading up to the studios. Visitors with disability will require some assistance.
Courtyard Studios Irvine

Courtyard Studios Irvine Saturday 2nd October 11am – 5pm Sunday 3rd October 12pm – 5pm Courtyard Studios | 128 Harbour Street | Irvine | KA12 8PZ Over the summer the Courtyard has been redeveloped to create four new spaces which means around ten artists will be displaying work this year. Directions: The Courtyard Studios are a 10 minute walk from the train station along Harbour Street on the harbour front. The studios are next door to the Ship Bank Inn. Accessibility: The studios are on the ground floor and are fully accessible.
The Steeple Fife

The Steeple Fife Saturday 2nd October 11am – 5pm Sunday 3rd October 12pm – 5pm The Steeple | 67 High Street | Newburgh | Fife | KY14 6AH Five artists will open their spaces in Newburgh’s beautifully converted former town hall. Directions: Newburgh is 5 miles from Perth and 15 miles from Dundee. It is about an hour and a half from both Glasgow and Edinburgh by car. THe main road through the town is the A913. Accessibility: All studios in Newburgh are fully accessible.
