Sewage Treatment with MBBR Technology Our surrounding is what we choose to make it. For having an ecological balance in nature, it is essential that we manage our waste system. Proper and efficient management of sewage is not only important for the society but for the entire nature and environment around us.

Sewage Treatment with MBBR Technology The complete system of sewage management has through several years evolved with different kinds of changes in the structure of urban and rural areas, the environment that we live in and the kind of waste emitted and its increasing rate. Hence with the increasing needs and severity today, sewage treatment plant are being well designed and drafted. There is a change in the ways of urban sanitation, waste disposal, and other such activities Since all the waste emitted is not of similar nature and its disposal is also varying in different ways. An effective and efficient sewage management is therefore critically important for recycling and proper disposal of waste and in turn to maintain an ecological balance in our surroundings whether it is a large urban sewage system or one designed for rural or small towns.

One of the most highly implemented systems today is the MBBR sewage treatment plant technology for the treatment of sewage in the vicinity. This technology was invented by members of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), by Hallvard Ă˜degaard and his coworkers in 1989.

Sewage Treatment with MBBR Technology This technology uses several polyethylene biofilm carriers which are operating in an aerated wastewater treatment basin in different motions. Each individual carrier contributes in increasing the productivity of decomposing by providing a layer of protected surface to enhance the growth of a heterotrophic type and autotrophic type of bacteria within its cells. For a quicker rate of biodegradation, these thousands of bacteria within this system are generated thereby making the process instant and easy. This technique is being used worldwide and has proven very efficient in sewage treatment methods for a large distribution. There are several reasons why the MBBR technology is being spread and implemented worldwide. Few of them include: • The existing plants can be easily upgraded and efficiently. • The MBBR technique is easy to operate and as well as monitor and control on a large scale. • The biofilm is highly efficient to being adapted. • The separation of the particles is easy.
