I participated in a video production with Steve Elci and Friends. It took
place at the Garde Arts Theater and my mom and I attended with
Ms. O.The director explained what we should do as we held up
inspirational signs. We did four takes, I was surprised how tired I
became holding the sign and repeating the song. I love video
production. It was a lot of fun and my mom and I are in the video!
Thank you Ms.O for inviting me, it was a great learning experience.
P. S.The song is stuck in our heads forever!
My AP Vocational
Experience
By Luke Bozarth
My favorite part about the Avery Point
campus are campus walks and picking up
sea glass. I’ve learned this is a great way for
me to relax. Also, I enjoy working at the
pet store where I clean the tanks and
complete the tasks asked of me by
Nico, the store manager.
Bluff Point
By Isabella Diglio
We went on a hike with the Montville
Transition group. After the hike, we enjoyed
lunch on the beach and hung out with
our new friends. We could see Avery Point
from Bluff Point. What a gorgeous day!!
The Nest
By Alivia Johnson and
Sam Deflice
The Nest is a great place to eat.
We placed our order in advance
since we are such a big group and
learned to estimate our order
and tipping in advance.They make
coffee too and have social gatherings.
The Nest is fun!

Mohegan Sun!
Mohegan Fun
By Marcus Noel, Diego Graciano and
Sean Morrison
At Mohegan, we feel supported and work hard.We are pros
at sanitizing now.We are confident in our organization skills; putting
soaps, lotion, coffee, dental kits and more in order. It’s nice working
here because the people are friendly and the food is good.We like
that we can play a nice, fun competitive but friendly game of pool.
We also got to see our good pal Taylor from the Norwich group!
Menu Math
By Darren Guppy
One of the topics we learn is how to
read a menu and estimate the cost of
our lunch order. This is important because
it’s good practice to have an idea of what
items cost, tax and tipping. Also, this has
helped me with my calculation skills.
Puffins
By Sean Morrison
At Puffins, I serve people food, water and
coffee with skills I learned from Cool Beans.
I clean the sinks in the bathrooms, and the
chairs in the dining room like cleaning the
slot machines at Mohegan Sun. I like it at Puffins.
I get to see a lot of my friends I know from
Special Olympics there! I also made a pie
crust and put apples in it!
Cool Beans

was caramel. This month, yes! Pumpkin Spice!
We have new merchandise of long sleeves
and hats coming this year! We all designed
them and can’t wait to place the order.
Cool Beans is a great learning opportunity
where we practice customer service, coffee
making and learn how to take inventory!
We love cool beans!
Goodwill! I think
it’s Greatwill! By

Located on a hill in Ledyard, Holmberg
is a great place to pick a variety of
delicious apples! We also had a lunch
and got apple cider and played fun games!

Cooking in the Classroom!
We have a great kitchen purchased from a grant!
This has inspired us to cook.We are working
on making quesadillas and trying new recipes.
We cook breakfast on a frying pan and make sure
it’s well prepared. We celebrate our classmates
birthdays by making their favorite dishes. So far
We have made quesadillas, pizza, pulled pork sandwiches,
pasta salad, pancakes and egg sandwiches. Please
send in a family favorite and we would love to try
it out! Happy Cooking!
