The Pulseband combines traditional Chinese Medicine Therapy with modern technology, which makes TCM diagnosis more acceptable by different people. Pulse feeling is the main diagnostic method taken by the TCM doctor and is well-matched with the pulse data and heart rates data. What's more, the Pulseband App gives professional advice and your body data.

Her needs: a smart portable equipment to monitor her body data to give her professional advice. Besides, this device should be exquisite and fashionable that can fit her style.

01 Pulseband Chinese medical health mate Observation By observing the process of a patient who treated by Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor, the main way taken by the doctor is pulse feeling. Doctors can get most of the information that they need from this method.
Interview Bao Shude A doctor who has 30+ years experience of traditional chinese medicine therapy.
Q: What diseases are common among white-collar people? Could those diseases be cured or controlled by TCM Therapy? A: I think the most serious one would be apocamnosis. Additionally, there are also some other diseases like aneamia, arrhythmia, hypertension etc. All those diseases could be treated by TCM therapy dramatically.
Q: What’s the principle of ‘pulse feeling’? Is it possible to change the pules condition into data? A: The frequency, the strength of the pulse and the doctors’ experience which is probably thought to be the most important one. However, if you want to transform this ‘feeling’ into data, you’d better collect the patient’s blood pressure and heart rates, which would be helpful. 04

Mock-up 1 -Test
I chose the paper and lighted clay to make the mock-up quickly to find potential problems. The girth of wrist’s difference caused by gender has been taken into consideration when built the prototype. The solution of the problem was separating the band into two parts. The yellow on was the main part that responses for collecting and analysing the data while the paper belt was designed for adjusting the length.
A problem was found during the mock-up testing. The point that contacted the two parts was in an inappropriate position, which could make it hard for the user to switch the sensor to the right place.

Mock-up 2 -Development
The new prototype was all made of light clay for deciding the shape of the band. The position of the screen and sensor were put on the band more accurately this time.
The joint has been moved to the other side of the band to make it more convenient for the user to find the pulse and put the sensor on it.

The sensor is flush with the inside of the band so that it would not be felt by the user.
The button on the band is a little bit below the surface to avoid touching it accidentally.
The belt is replaceable and adjustable, thus to provide more choices for users.

Rendering The users could start collecting data by press the button, which inherits the way that TCM doctors do. This similarity is the metaphor of transplanting the TCM pulse feeling method into the modern device.

App This app is matched with the pulseband which shows the core information of your body, also the pulse condition. Moreover, some professional suggestions would be given to solving your health problems. Also, some tips would be shown on the interface if you keep working for a long time or abnormal body data appears.

The new holder has a brand new shape and function. Furthermore, it could assist users to take the wok easier than before, thus to reduce the pressure on users’ wrist and forearm.

Problem
Pictures show the process when I was cooking. During the process, I found that when I was holding or emptying the wok, my wrist was twisted and suffered too much pressure so that I could feel the ache. This problem may cause more health troubles, even diseases.

It’s a multifunctional product that combines the features of cups and bottles in a specific and practical manner.

Introduction It is a herbaceous, rhizomatous, perennial plant growing 30–100 cm tall, with variably hairless to hairy stems and foliage, and a wide-spreading fleshy underground rhizome. The leaves are 5–9 cm long and 1.5–3 cm broad, with a serrated margin. The stem is square-shaped, a trademark of the mint family of herbs. Spearmint produces flowers in slender spikes, each flower pink or white, 2.5–3 mm long, and broad.
