Ripstop Theatre presents

A Real Fairy Story Sun 18 Jan 3pm 45mins 4-7 yrs. Do you believe in fairies? Mrs. Buttersnap does. In actual fact she is an expert on them and needs a photograph of a real fairy for her new book. With an assortment of gadgets, old and new technology, she slips into a fantasy world for fairies, where all is not well. This is a fun and exciting show full of comedy, magic and shadow puppetry. Pinocchio Sun 25 Jan 3pm 60mins 4+ yrs. The objects of a carpenter’s workshop are used to tell the endearing tale of a wooden puppet who wishes to be a real boy and a puppeteer who longs to be a father. The story of Pinocchio is brought to life with puppetry, shadows, illusions and music before your very eyes. PLUS Arts ‘n’ Crafts Family Workshop 2pm – 2.45pm & 4pm – 4.45pm Come and have some fun making a Pinocchio jumping jack toy to take home and play with. Our mid-week special is brought to you by Krazy Kat Theatre’s hilarious version of the classic fairy tale. A grandfather is left holding a very leaky baby, so whilst tidying, he creates a world of story fantasy as he begins to tell the child his favourite tale of Cinderella. Featuring magic tricks inventive silliness, puppetry, tunes from Rossini’s opera and even an aria. This witty work features full integrated sign language.

Journey of a Turtle Sun 8 Feb 3pm 50mins 5+yrs In the beginning turtle was shiny and fast, always impatient, always in a hurry. But then one day he had a terrible accident. A beautiful story based on a trilogy of ‘Just-So’ style traditional turtle tales from around the world.

An exhilarating production combining the skills of British and Korean artists with storytelling, physical theatre, live music, puppetry and exuberant eastern and western humour.

Up In The Attic Sun 15 Mar 3pm 45mins 3-6yrs Overcome your fear of the dark in a magical journey of discovery and adventure. Join three children on an unforgettable bedtime adventure as they journey through the attic at the top of an old house and discover the delights and secrets hidden inside. Together the children unravel a mystery, overcoming their fears. A magical, melodious and interactive tale created through enchanting music and puppetry.

Shh…Bang! Sun 29 Mar 3pm 50mins 3+yrs A delicate dance-theatre performance for early years, playfully exploring silence and noise. “Quiet” lives in a muffled world of clouds and softness. Next door “Loud” collects more and more noises and wild sounds. In drawers and suitcases there are boings, splashes, bangs and swooshes. How can these two possibly find a way to listen to each other? Peut-etre Theatre create interactive work for young audiences using strong visuals physical movement and music.

Liang & The Magic Paintbrush Sun 1 Feb 3pm 45mins 4-7yrs Celebrate the Chinese New Year with this charming show combining puppetry, origami and live painting. Liang dreams of becoming a painter, but is too poor to buy himself a paintbrush. Join him on a magical journey to find out if dreams can really come true. Limited spaces.

Rosa often wonders if there something wrong with her… She has no friends to play with and her parents are always away. So, to pass the time,Rosa creates her own dream world with dragons, frogs, and the most wonderful parents she can imagine. Limited spaces.

Will Yeh Shen be able to attend the New Year Festival? How can a fish, a dragon and a horse help her? From the company that brought you ‘Why The Lion Danced’, a Chinese version of a popular fairy tale fusing Beijing opera, puppetry and dance.
