FROM JERRY DEMINGS
Greetings: It is my sincere pleasure to welcome you to the 32nd Annual Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival! For more than three decades, the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival has engaged and entertained art enthusiasts and newcomers with unique theatre, music, and dance performances. We are so proud of Orange County Arts & Cultural Affairs Director Terry Olson, one of the visionaries that created the festival in 1992, the longest-running Fringe theatre festival in the United States.
The Orlando Fringe's unique independent theatrical performances connect and engage the community through an immersive cultural experience like no other. We applaud the local, national, and international artists for showcasing their talent, creativity, and artistry with our residents. In addition, the Orlando Fringe would not be possible without the dedicated and committed Fringe staff and Board of Directors.
Orange County is proud to be one of the top destinations in the world for visitors. We are known for the finest hospitality, exciting theme parks, arts and cultural attractions, sports venues, and one of the largest convention centers in the nation. It is my mission to create a community culture of innovation, collaboration, and inclusion. The arts foster a vibrant economy and quality of life that are the hallmarks of our community.
Once again, welcome to the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival. I wish you all the best for a successful event!
Sincerely,
Jerry Demings Mayor of Orange CountyFROM BUDDY DYER
On behalf of the City of Orlando, I am proud to welcome you to the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival. Our city is proud to host the longest running and one of the most impactful Fringe theatre festivals in the United States. Since 1992, the Orlando Fringe has showcased cutting-edge performers and innovative works in our community.
I have enjoyed attending many Orlando Fringe performances over the years and love how the event brings nonjuried, accessible theatre, art, music and dance to our community, while supporting the artists who are performing. Just like our community, the Orlando Fringe is inclusive and welcoming. This includes Kids Fringe, which we proudly support through our City of Orlando Mayor’s Matching Grant Program.
For three decades, the Orlando Fringe has helped make our city a more vibrant place, while bringing residents together to experience the arts in unique settings. I am glad that the Orlando Fringe is a part of our community and I hope you have a wonderful time enjoying a variety of performances.
Sincerely,
Buddy Dyer Mayor, City of OrlandoFROM EMILY BONILLA
Dear Citizens of Orange County, Welcome to Orlando's 32nd Annual Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival, which is known for the longest-running Fringe Festival in the entire country. Another extraordinary fact is that the festival gives 100% of the ticket sales to the artists. Since 1992, the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival has combined live music, arts, and culture for a family-friendly outdoor event unique to Orlando.
I'm thrilled to invite you to an event that demonstrates how much of a meltingpot Orlando is. Every year this festival serves as a reminder as to why I love living in Orange County. This event unites local, national, and international artists with the diverse Central Florida community. For 14-days there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Your Commissioner,
Emily Bonilla District 5 CommissionerFROM ROBERT F. STUART
Welcome to the Annual Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival! It is my honor to provide a personal greeting for the longest running theatre festival! Orlando is fortunate to be home to so many talented, and innovative individuals. Every year, I am more amazed by the originality and the creativity that goes into every show on their schedule. There is truly something to make everyone in our community excited about the arts. I am also glad to have the chance to thank all those who work tirelessly year-round to make sure this festival continues to make its mark on our Great City. It is only because of their dedication, hard work and perseverance that we all have a chance to enjoy such a wide variety of talent in such an accessible way. Thank you for attending and ENJOY THE SHOWS!
Warmest Regards,
Robert F. Stuart City CommissionerFROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Friends,
On behalf of the board of directors of the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival welcome to the 32nd annual event! Orlando is known as the City Beautiful and our theme this year is “Festival Beautiful” in honor of the expanded partnership with the City of Orlando through Fringe ArtSpace.
Orlando Fringe has seen unprecedented growth in our theatrical offerings as well as our staffing over the last year. Our primary goals remain unchanged. We strive to support local, national, and international talent with top tier performance venues and a friendly, knowledgeable staff that has decades of experience in theatrical production and festival organization. We also deliver an exciting, safe, and unique experience for our beloved patrons. Our artists continually state that the Orlando Fringe is the friendliest festival that they attend. Whether this is your first Fringe or your 30th you will find that our team is available to assist and guide you through the wonders and beauty of Fringe. Make sure to engage with all that the Orlando Fringe has to offer. Visit Kids Fringe on the weekends, enjoy live music on the lawn, grab an adult beverage at our famous Matt McGrath beer tent, and, of course, see as many shows as you can between May 16 – 29. Fringe prides itself in ensuring that all the ticket proceeds are returned to each artist.
During your visit, please make sure to give a huge thank you to our volunteers! Say hello to the festival staff and thank an artist for their attendance.
Now, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!
Doug Davis Orlando Fringe Board PresidentFROM THE FESTIVAL PRODUCER
It is with great excitement that I welcome you to the 32nd Annual Orlando Fringe Festival!
I am thrilled to be serving as the new festival producer for this year's event and I cannot wait to share this incredible experience with you. As I step into this role, I am reminded that this festival is a perfect representation of diverse artists, performers, and creatives to showcase their talents and share their stories with you. This year's theme, "Festival Beautiful," is a testament to the idea that growth and beauty go hand in hand.
This festival is not just about entertainment, it is about pushing the boundaries of creativity, encouraging artists to take risks, exploring new avenues, fostering a sense of community and bringing people together to celebrate the power of the arts. Let this festival be a reminder of the beauty that is possible when we embrace growth. I encourage you to embrace your own growth by taking a chance on a new performer or exploring a new genre. I guarantee that you will find something that will challenge and inspire you.
I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the artists and performers who will be gracing us with their presence this year. Your dedication and passion for your craft is what makes this festival truly BEAUTIFUL. Thank you for joining us for this special celebration of beauty and creativity. I cannot wait to experience this festival with you, I am so excited to see the magic that you will bring to our community!
Tempestt Halstead Orlando Fringe Festival ProducerFROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Fringe is back and ready to deliver the best festival ever! This year’s theme is “Festival Beautiful” in honor of our beautiful City of Orlando. The City has offered Fringe an opportunity to expand from two weeks each year in May to full-year programming downtown Orlando at our new venue Fringe ArtSpace. We kicked off in January, and have had a full spring season of partnering with local arts organizations to lift them and give them a platform for sharing their art. And this May, Fringe ArtSpace welcomes two festival-managed Fringe venues – Purple and Teal Venues.
Fringe is built upon the foundation of being un-juried, uncensored and inclusive of all voices. Any artist, regardless of background or experience, has equal opportunity to perform on our stages. We make the art accessible and affordable, and give back 100% of the ticket admission to the artist.
As we enter into our 32nd year, we reflect on how far we’ve come. We began downtown, in empty storefronts and on Church Street. And here we are again – full circle – back on Church Street decades later. Only this time we’ve expanded our programming from Loch Haven to downtown and have more shows, more activities, and more art than ever before.
There’s nothing like Orlando Fringe. I am proud to be a part of the oldest and largest Fringe in the United States. I hope you see lots of shows, meet lots of new people, reconnect with lots of old friends, and are moved by something you experience. Happy Fringe.
Alauna Friskics Orlando Fringe Executive DirectorFROM THE CAFF PRESIDENT
The last three plus years have been challenging ones as we struggle with the fallout from the pandemic, inflation, and global unrest. It’s hard sometimes to remain upbeat and positive about the future. But even in these moments, I see plenty of reason to feel hopeful and excited.
If there’s anything these years have taught me is how incredibly vital the arts are to our human psyche and wellbeing. Particularly in the Fringe World, where so much is about the wonderful diversity of artistic expressions and human interaction. It’s a world in which we are free - and encouraged! - to ‘think outside the box’; exploring different ways in which to express, share, and to celebrate the stories we all have in new and exciting ways. Each of us embracing what makes us unique and special while at the same time, discovering how similar we are in our own shared experiences.
I want to thank you, the audience, for being willing to expand your hearts and minds to new possibilities, thoughts, and ideas. For truly embracing the Spirit of Fringe and coming out to see these shows. Your support means the world to these artists whose talents inspire each and every day – something I’m always in constant admiration of.
As a CAFF member Festival, we strive to give artists space in which to share their stories in a way that best showcases how they want to tell it, with 100% of the ticket price going directly back to them.
Stretch yourself. See a show you know nothing about. Bring someone along to share this experience with. And tell everyone you know about the Wonderful World of Fringe. It only takes a small pebble in the pond to cause a cascade of ripples with far reaching effects. All it takes is that first step …
Happy Fringing!

In one word, Fringe is “UNIQUE.” As the longest running Fringe theatre festival in the United States, Orlando Fringe is founded on being 100% UNCENSORED! You never know what the artists will say or do. 100% UNJURIED! Performers are chosen at random by a lottery. The artists have full control over their performances. 100% ACCESSIBLE! Ticket prices range from FREE TO $15, which is a range that allows anyone from any walk of life to experience Fringe. 100% INCLUSIVE! We are an environment where everyone is treated with love and kindness. We welcome anyone regardless of their age, gender, color of your skin, religion, who you’re attracted to or anything else. Finally, 100% OF ALL TICKET SALES are returned to the artists. You, as an audience member, decide how successful a show is by purchasing tickets.
WHY DO I NEED A BUTTON?
We return 100% of all ticket money to the performing artists. The buttons, which are a one-time purchase, cover our operating costs such as theatre rentals, equipment, supplies, lighting, this very program and more. The button is also a badge of honor. Wear it proudly to show that you support the creativity and freedom that comes with Fringe.
WHAT SHOWS SHOULD I SEE?
First of all, don’t stress it. Read this program and check out the show descriptions. Pick the ones that sound good to you. You can also talk to the artists. Talk to people in line. Talk to someone while enjoying a drink at the beer tent. Check out all the show posters. Read the show reviews in Orlando newspapers.
HOW MANY SHOWS CAN I SEE?
How much time do you have? Check out the daily schedules and plan your day at Fringe. Talk to people on the lawn, in line and all over town. Take a chance and see something unknown!
CAN I BE LATE?
No. If you arrive after the doors have shut and the performance has begun, you will not be admitted. So don’t be upset! The integrity of the performance is important. Besides, the money you spent on that ticket goes directly to the artist, so you should feel good about that.

Couples Face Challenges:
· Are you and your partner having the same argument again and again?
· Do you feel like you don’t really know or understand your partner anymore?
· Are you ready to learn how to communicate with your partner in ways that bring you together?
· Are you ready for effective and compassionate support from a couples’ therapist who understands the unique strengths and challenges of your relationship?
It is my role as a couple’s therapist to help you answer these questions. I will help you navigate the roadblocks that are keeping you stuck in unhealthy cycles and move you into a meaningful connection.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
Orlando Fringe is a happening place with lots of things going on! We want you to make the most of your experience but we also want you to be healthy. Here are some simple tips to keep you fringing safely!
DRINK WATER!
It may sound simple but we all know how hot May is on the Lawn, so always stay hydrated. Each of our vendors have water for sale and there are water fountains throughout Loch Haven Park and in the venues.
WASH YOUR HANDS!
We all know that germs can be spread by dirty hands, so please keep those hands clean by either washing them, using the hand washing stations on the lawn, or using some hand sanitizer.
WEAR SUNSCREEN!
Walking from venue to venue, hanging out on the lawn and standing in line are all things that may happen in direct sunlight at the Fringe. Keep yourself safe from the harmful rays of the sun with some sun block.
EAT SOMETHING!
We have plenty of vendors on the Lawn for you to find something tasty to eat! Remember it’s best to eat three meals a day for your wellbeing.
RECOGNIZE THE SIGNS OF HEAT ILLNESSES SUCH AS HEAT RASH, HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT STROKE.
If you ever feel overheated, dizzy, nauseous or weak, find a staff member and they will assist you. We want everyone to be safe in the heat! Also recognize signs of heat exhaustion in your doggie companions. Be aware of excessive panting or difficulty breathing, dehydration (dry nose, visible tiredness, excessive panting and sunken eyes), excessive drooling, fever, changes in the color of their gums (bright red, gray, purple or bluish gums), lack of urine, rapid pulse, muscle tremors, lethargy or weakness, vomiting or diarrhea, dizziness.
WE LIKE TO PRIDE OURSELVES ON BEING A SAFER SPACE FOR YOU.
Orlando Fringe is committed and strives to be a respectful, safe environment free from harassment, violence, discrimination, bullying and abuse. All community members should be treated with respect and dignity. We provide opportunities for everyone to contribute and participate in all events and activities whenever possible. We will not tolerate participation in activities or behaviors that discriminate on the grounds of race, gender, age, marital status, religious beliefs, citizenship, mental and physical abilities or sexual orientation.
COVID-19.
While we all know that COVID-19 hasn’t been as prevalent in the last year, it’s still a part of life. Fringe is a large gathering of people, in sometimes small spaces, so we encourage you to take any precautions you feel necessary and be mindful of risks. We continue to monitor the CDC guidelines and will make decisions based on their guidance. REMEMBER: if you feel sick, stay home! If you test positive for COVID-19, stay home until you are testing negative, even if you might not be showing or experiencing symptoms.

BACKSTAGE TOURS
Since 1992, Orlando Fringe has provided a space and opportunity for artists to emerge and showcase their talents and craft. As we’ve grown, we’ve worked to bolster artists from all backgrounds and varying skills to strengthen the arts community of Orlando. Now we’ve been given the opportunity to do those things all year round in a uniquely Fringe way. Fringe ArtSpace is not your traditional theatre venue, it is so much more.
The City of Orlando approached and asked us at Orlando Fringe to expand on what we were already doing in developing artist-focused programming and creating experiences that build upon the amazing arts scene that exists in Central Florida in a year-round venue.
We’ve developed Fringe ArtSpace by listening to the needs of the community. It is first and foremost a space for artists and has been created with their input. We worked to make ArtSpace a hub for Orlando’s art community where you can view traditional theatre, participate in learning experiences, and where you’ll find affordable rehearsal and performance space.
ArtSpace provides a place for art makers and art lovers to gather where they can be involved in the arts on every level. From educational workshops to full blown-theatrical productions, Fringe ArtSpace “has the range”. It's more than just a venue, it's a valuable resource of knowledge and support for the Orlando arts community.
For more info on upcoming events at ArtSpace please visit fringeartspace.org.

Engage in an up to 10-minute, one-on-one phone call of co-created fiction inspired by select artwork in the gallery. See the sign in VF HQ for all dates and details. Developed by the Interactive PlayLab (interactiveplaylab.com).
Our 3rd annual film event has the theme of "Color". Filmmakers show what it means to be a visual artist whose medium is motion picture by sharing their short films.
In this unique show, gallery artist Adrienne H. Lee (https://www.youtube.com/c/TheWanderingArtHistorian) will be interviewed about one of their pieces. This will inspire an improv show performed by Fringe theater artists, Visual Fringe Staff, and Fringe Production Staff. As they perform, artist Gabriella Serralles (@gabsilla) will be creating a digital painting live, inspired by the improv scenes.
We are proud to host this market, which is a celebration of queer and nonbinary artists and their art.
Gallery Artist Anthony Darby (@dawrby) will create a portrait of you! Only $10.
You are a work of art and we want to capture it. Professional photographers will take 5 photos of you with our backdrops and email them to you for a donation to Orlando Fringe (recommendation of $5).
An artist will draw a portrait of your pet for a donation to Orlando Fringe (recommendation of $10). They will be given a photo of your pet, and only a few minutes to create the piece.
Welcome to the mini mART where art is conveniently sold! Artists will be selling pieces that are under $50.
Judy Pickett (@judypickettart) will lead participants through a cyanotype class! Cyanotype is an alternative photography method that uses the light of the sun to develop a blue and white image. You will design and develop 2-3 cyanotype prints suitable for framing. All supplies will be provided and a cocktail ticket will be given on arrival to the class (any age can participate, must be 21+ to drink alcohol). Only 12 seats! Ticket purchase required.
Enjoy some Fringe-y theatre from the comfort of home whenever you want!

Ticket Info
Ticket prices range from free to $15. There is a $2 fee added to each ticket that goes directly to the ticketing company. Artists will keep 100% of the base ticket price.
Artists determine the length of their shows. Most Fringe shows are 60 minutes long. No show exceeds 75 minutes.
BE ON TIME
With more than 1,000 performances presented over the 14 days, the schedule is very tight so we must start every performance on time. We recommend arriving at least 20 minutes before your show starts to avoid missing it and being sad. Patrons who arrive after the doors have shut will not be admitted and will not be issued a refund. We know you will be upset but the integrity of the performance is important. Besides, you still supported the artist so you should feel good about that. So go have a beer and pick another show. All ticket sales are final. No exchanges or refunds unless the show is canceled by the performer.
TIP THE FRINGE
Rounding is cool! When you purchase your tickets you will have the option to round your total to the nearest dollar and donate that amount to Orlando Fringe. Every penny counts so thank you.
Shows may sell out in advance so it is best to purchase your tickets early for any show that’s a must see. You can present either an image from your phone, a printed or emailed tickets for admission to a performance. And don't forget your button!
NO TICKET EXCHANGES ALLOWED!
ADVANCE TICKETS
You may purchase tickets online at orlandofringe.org, or in person at the Orlando Fringe offices from April 19-May 12, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.4 p.m.
PASSES
If you have a 10-pass or 25-pass, you can redeem your tickets on our website or in the special services line at our main box office inside the Lowndes Shakespeare Center.
PATRONS PICK
The top two selling shows from each venue will be declared Patron’s Pick winners and receive a bonus performance on May 29. The winners will also be celebrated at the Closing Ceremonies.
DISCOUNTS are offered at the discretion of the performer. Orlando Fringe does not control the cost of the ticket or the discounts offered. Read the individual show description for a list of which discounts are being offered.
ACCESSIBILITY
All Fringe managed venues and BYOVs are fully accessible; however, some sitespecific venues have limited wheelchair access. For detailed venue accessibility information, please visit orlandofringe. org/accessibility.
CHILDREN
Our festival is accessible and inclusive and we leave it all up to parents with small children to read the program and show descriptions. Except for one thing -- 18+ means 18+. We like to say that Fringe has shows from G to OMG. Orlando Fringe does not dictate or set ratings for individual shows. The ratings and warning are set by the individual performers. We do not censor or jury any of their content.
Be sure to check out Kids Fringe on Saturdays and Sundays of both festival weekends for free shows and activities geared toward the little Fringe fans.
Children 12 years old and under are not required to have a festival button but they must have a ticket. Babies in arms are permitted but we ask that you be respectful of the artist and other patrons and leave the theatre should your baby begin to cause a disturbance. We are sorry but readmission to the theatre will not be allowed once you exit and a refund cannot be made.
Shows are rated all ages, 7+, 13+ and 18+.

ARTIST OUTREACH
FRINGERS OF THE FUTURE WORKSHOPS
Orlando Fringe does more than give artists a place to perform. We strive to support the artists in any way imaginable through education, partnerships and accommodations.
Orlando Fringe brings theatre professionals to area high schools for workshop sessions. Schools choose the topic and Fringe supplies a speaker. Workshop topics range from improv, acting and writing to producing your own show.
ARTIST BILLETING
When artists travel to Orlando, they look to minimize their expenditures. This is where you come in. Fringe fans like yourself open their homes to artists and give them a place to stay during their visit to Orlando.
ARTIST WEBSITE
Available on our website orlandofringe.org, it is a comprehensive site educating artists on how to be successful at Orlando Fringe.
GEORGE WALLACE ARTIST FUND
Awarded to a first time or early career producer, this distinction comes with a cash award to help the artist market their production.
DOUG BA'ASER COMEDIC ACTORS MEMORIAL FUND
New this year, this fund celebrates the life of Doug and awards an artist who embodies Doug's comedic spirit.
ORLANDO FRINGE UNIFIED AUDITIONS
Every year in late January/early February, Orlando Fringe organizes a weekend of auditions for upcoming Fringe shows that is an excellent resource for both producers and performers. Producers can sit in on up to 100 performer auditions and call back anyone they are interested in casting, and performers can be seen by as many as 15 show producers/directors at once.
PRODUCING WORKSHOPS
During the lead up to the Festival, artists are invited to workshops to assist with producing at the Fringe, recipes for a successful production and the life of your project after Fringe.
ORLANDO FRINGESHIP
Created by Orlando Fringe artists Lindsay Taylor and Katie Thayer, Orlando Fringeship gives visiting artists the opportunity to network, go on field trips around Orlando and help acclimate them to the festival.
Fringe Feels will be located in the lobby of the Orlando Rep.

Want to bring your show to Fringe 2024?
The Orlando Fringe is unjuried, uncensored, accessible to audiences and artists, inclusive to everyone no matter what may make them unique, and returns 100% of the ticket price to the artists. Orlando Fringe selects shows by lottery.
Applications go live on our website from September to November. Applicant names are placed in a rotating drum during our live lottery event in December. The order the names are pulled dictates the order of acceptance.
