Dr. James Cottrell and Joseph Lovett began collecting art over 40 years ago after getting together in 1976. Now, Orlando gets to see what the couple has been expanding on for decades.
The Orlando Museum of Art presents the exhibition
“Relationships: A Love for Collecting,” running through May 15. The exhibit features 84 pieces from the couple’s massive donation. A small-scale solo exhibition will accompany the eclectic and diverse
“Relationships” called “Edouard Prulhière: The Inverted Sound of Painting,” showcasing Cottrell and Lovett’s whopping 34 original works by the French artist.

Relationships: A Love for Collecting tells the story of Dr. James Cottrell, an esteemed anesthesiologist and professor, and Joseph Lovett, an award-winning documentary filmmaker, who have been collecting art together for over forty years. As a young SoHo couple, they engaged in the art scene and supported HIV/AIDS and gay rights efforts, often acquiring works through fundraising auctions. Their collection stands as a testament to love, resilience, and the enduring power of art to inspire change.
A two-week cultural extravaganza at DR. PHILLIPS CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS with 40+ classical and jazz concerts, dance, theatre, visual arts exhibitions, presentations, family events, and interactive experiences. Many events are free and student discounts are available for others!

Kylie Minogue is coming to Orlando on her new “Tension” tour this spring. Longtime LGBTQ+ icon and ally, Minogue brings the fresh sounds of her newest dance-pop album to the Kia Center.
The Australian star took social media by storm in 2023 with her hit single “Padam” which has become a Pride anthem.
The 11 tracks of her newest album, "Tension II," are a reflection of the creative approach she took recording it: fun, playful and guaranteed to make you want to dance.
Minogue will be performing at the Kia Center in Orlando April 13 with British pop star Rita Ora as her opening act.

Following her appearance at St Pete Pride 2024, Alyssa Edwards is bringing her “Crowned” tour to Clearwater. It will combine her performance prowess with stories detailing personal struggles during her rise to fame. A “RuPaul’s Drag Race" scene stealer, she most recently won the competition’s “Global All Stars” spinoff. Since then, she has become a beacon of pride for the LGBTQ+ community worldwide. Taking time away from her award-winning dance studio, Beyond Belief Dance Company, the drag superstar's new tour promises awe-inspiring performances as well as a more sentimental side of the queen.

tampa fringe Don't Miss!
The Tampa International Fringe Festival returns for its ninth year. The festival provides an uncensored and unregulated platform for underrepresented, up-and-coming and celebrated artists to perform on stage.
This year’s performing arts festival will take place after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis targeted the celebration in 2024. Funding cuts were made after DeSantis deemed Fringe festivals were “too sexual,” despite appropriate age ratings listed for each show.
Kicking off June 11, the 10-day festival will feature 16 local, eight national and seven international shows. For more information about this year’s shows and festival, visit TampaFringe.org
