D E N I S E L E E is an award-winning Dallas based actress/singer who has performed in all genres of entertainment for more than three decades. She is the founder and Executive Producer of the Denise Lee Onstage Cabaret Series and the Dallas Cabaret Festival which is entering its 6th year. 2020 marks the 4th time she has been voted ‘Best Vocalist’ in the Reader’s Voice Awards of the Dallas Voice. Lee has recently added ‘playwright’ to her list of accomplishments. Her first play Funny, You Don’t Act Like A Negro had its World Premiere at historic Theatre Three in February. In addition to her work as an Artist, Denise Lee established 'Community Conversation'. For four years, these monthly gatherings have brought people together for respectful, open, honest dialogue in order to heal racial and community tension. For these efforts, she has received several awards including the 2019 Cathedral of Hope’s Hero of Hope Award. C H R I S T O P H E R J . D E AT O N was to play the role of Robert Kincaid opposite Christine Cornish Smith in WaterTower Theatre’s 2020 production of The Bridges of Madison County. Although Bridges could not be produced this year as planned, Christopher is extremely grateful to Shane and Elizabeth for giving him the opportunity to sing from Bridges in this wonderfully inventive and diverse concert with the tremendously talented Christine Cornish Smith and incomparable Music Director Vonda Bowling. Since joining Actors’ Equity Association in 2005, Christopher has been seen in over 80 professional, regional productions, including 40 productions with Casa Mañana Theatre, 15 productions with Lyric Stage, and The Full Monty, Make Me A Song, Oklahoma!, Man of La Mancha, and Into the Woods all with WaterTower Theatre. In addition to acting, Christopher currently serves as the General Manager of Lyric Stage in Dallas, and is also the Owner & Head Coach of Fitness PAF in Keller. C H R I S T I N E C O R N I S H S M I T H is a New York City based dancer, singer and actor. She was most recently seen in the Original Broadway Cast revival of Kiss Me, Kate!, where she was a featured dancer in the ensemble and covered Lois Lane/Bianca. Christine is most well known for her portrayal of Bombalurina in the OBC revival of CATS, and was also seen in the OBC of My Fair Lady at the Lincoln Center Theater. For her work in CATS, she was nominated for "Best Female Performance in a Broadway Musical" for the 2017 Chita Rivera Awards. A cum laude graduate of the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (BFA musical theater), she is a former principal dancer with the Dallas Metropolitan Ballet. Other credits include: the original work of Agnes DeMille in Oklahoma! at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, original revival tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat helmed by director/choreographer, Andy Blankenbuehler, Laurey Williams in Susan Stroman’s Oklahoma! at the MUNY, Sheila Bryant in A Chorus Line at the Riverside Theater and Goodspeed Opera House. She has also performed as a principal vocalist with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, the Phoenix Symphony, and the Niagara Symphony Orchestra, as well as was a finalist in the prestigious Kurt Weill’s Lotte Lenya Vocal Competition in 2014. Christine is a teacher for CLI studios, Institute of American Musical Theater, Broadway Workshop, Broadway Classroom, among many other programs. She appeared in the 25th Anniversary Concert performance of Crazy For You at Lincoln Center, directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman and has also appeared on HBO’s “Last Week Tonight” with John Oliver, “Good Morning, America”, “The Today Show”, “The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade”, and “The Tony Awards". She has been featured on Playbill.com, Broadway.com, Inside Dance Magazine, and BroadwayBox as one of the "Incredible Debuts" of the 2016 Broadway season. D E V I N B E R G is an actress, singer, and writer from Southlake, TX, who happily joined the WaterTower Theatre family singing "Turn Back O Man" in Godspell last summer. She is a former lead vocalist in the Royal Court Theatre Company aboard Cunard Line's Queen Elizabeth (w/ Headliners Theatre Company). Upon returning to the U.S., Devin has been seen on several DFW stages, most recently as Lizzie in LIZZIE: The Lizzie Borden Rock Musical (IMPRINT Theatreworks). As a writer, Devin's works have received production in both DFW and NYC, most notably, SUCKERS (2017) and Butterfly Children (2019). Devin is also a co-founder of the rebel collective, a safe space for young artists to explore all artistic mediums through a lens of creativity, authenticity, and possibility. In her free time, she writes songs, hangs out in nature, and loves Lady Gaga. @dev_intechnicolor AS H L E Y P U C K E T T G O N Z A L E S is a DFW native and has been an NYC "Texpat" for 15 years. She played Lily St Regis on the Annie 30th Anniversary Broadway tour and at Madison Square Gardens and has performed at theaters all over the country including The Kennedy Center, Maltz Jupiter and Dallas Theatre Center. She has worked as a director and associate director in professional and community theatres such as The Mountain Playhouse, Argyle Theatre, Pfamily Arts, and Garland Civic Theater and most recently directed WaterTower’s I Am My Own Wife. Ashley is founder of Gideon's Feet, a 501c3 organization helping artists in times of crisis. She has 20+ years of experience as a teacher and coach. Her students have worked in shows ranging from Broadway’s Lion King, to community theatre, to Dallas Theatre Center and other regional houses. She's most proud of Simon, who defies description. V E R B K U LT U R E is a perfect word to describe her. She is poetry in motion. Verb was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago. She is a performing artist that possesses many talents which include being a Spoken Word Artist, a Slam Champion, Dancer, Musician, Producer, Writer, Host, Motivational Speaker and so much more. She is the founder and CEO of Verb Kulture Ent. This young woman has a gift of bringing people together and reaching an audience. Her dynamic performances grabs your attention and speaks to your heart. She is currently the producer of some of the biggest shows in Dallas/Fort Worth area including the Annual Changing Faces Masquerade Ball and the Annual Harlem Renaissance Extravaganza…Verb has been performing for the majority of her life and believes that everyone has a story to tell and the capability of making a difference in the lives of others. This national artist has been seen on many stages and has performed with many Grammy Award winning artists. She was a featured artist on season 3 of “Tv One’s Verses and Flow Show” where she shared the stage with Mary Mary and Vivian Green. Her talents have landed her many great opportunities. When she is not on the stage, you can find her producing
empowering shows presented by Verb Kulture Ent. like W.O.W. (Words over Wine), Poetry’s Love Affair with Music, and Beat Street Poetry. She is a true lover of all art forms and provides a platform for all up and coming talent. Verb just released her new single titled “RēBel” available on all streaming music platforms, featuring Grammy Award winning producers. Kellie has over twenty years of training and experience and, when not at the studio, enjoys performing, choreography and/or directing locally. A few favorite credits include productions of The Producers (Uptown Players), Crazy For You (WaterTower Theatre), West Side Story (Lyric Stage), Sweet Charity (Watertower Theatre), and Sister Act (WaterTower Theatre). She has taught on staff in the Acting and Musical Theatre Departments at KD Conservatory College. Kellie graduated from the film program at KD College and trained at The Neighborhood Playhouse in NYC. A N I A LYO N S is an actor, dancer, and assistant stage manager based in Dallas who got her start at the Firehouse Theater. Since then, she has gone to work at other local DFW theaters such as Dallas Children's Theatre, Theater Three, Uptown Players, Lyric Stage, and more. Currently, Ania is a part of Prism Movement Theater's original drive in production of Everything Will Be Fine which has some exciting updates coming soon! Sara is an Orchestra teacher in Denton where they live with their wife Whitney and assorted pets. K AT G L A Z E (Violin) As a return performer with the WaterTower Theatre pit orchestra, Kat Glaze is excited to be participating in this unique event with such a talented group of humans. With 28 years of violin study, performance, and teaching under her belt, Kat is known for bringing her soulful musicianship and professional expertise to every performance be it in theater, solo work, Celtic fiddling, recording, or improvisation. Kat has been seen on stages across DFW and is currently the resident violinist and concertmaster for the Cathedral of Hope Orchestra and the renowned Turtle Creek Chorale while also fiddling for the eclectic Celtic band, 5 Second Rule. Most notably, Kat has been seen on the stage as an actor-musician playing the role of the fiddling Ex-Girlfriend in the regional premiere of the Tony award winning musical, Once at Theatre Three. Kat would like to thank WaterTower Theatre for including her in this wonderful virtual performance during a time when the world needs art more than ever. @ katglazemusic E R I C J O N E S (Viola) got his start in music at an early age, studying voice with his father, Robert Jones, and singing in many children’s roles, including Amahl and the Night Visitors. He began studying the violin and viola at age 10, and received a Bachelor and Master of Music in Viola Performance and a Master of Musicology from the University of North Texas, and is a PhD candidate in Musicology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Eric studied Bolivian folk music as a Fulbright Scholar in Cochabamba, Bolivia, and is a specialist in the folk music traditions of Latin America and the Andes. He is a regular performer of both solo works and chamber music, and has performed with orchestras in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. JAY M AJ E R N I K (Percussion) is a professional freelance percussionist based in Dallas, TX. As a performer, Jay is a section member of many suburban and regional symphony orchestras, including Plano Symphony Orchestra and New Philharmonic of Irving. Equally at home in musical theatre productions, he performs regularly at Water Tower Theatre, Theatre Three, and Jr. Players. He has played in numerous rock, pop, and jazz bands including the Singapore Slingers, Bob Snook Jazz Trio, and Blue Skye. In 2011, Jay performed with the multi-award winning rock band Chicago during their Colour My World tour. Jay is an endorser for Evans drumheads, Paiste cymbals, and Pro-Mark drumsticks. He teaches percussion at Bishop Lynch High School and is a consultant at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (Dallas’ Arts Magnet HS). Jay is married to author Laura Leigh Majernik and has 2 sons and 2 dogs. A A R O N S U T T O N (Guitar) is a guitarist and Dallas native. A graduate from Berklee College of Music, he performs across North Texas as a musician for hire.
DESIGNERS RYA N B U R K L E , Lighting Design Ryan Burkle is a Dallas based Lighting Designer and Technician, and he's very excited to be designing with WaterTower Theatre. He received his BFA in Theatre Performance with a concentration in Lighting Design from Baylor University in 2017. He has had the pleasure of working in the DFW area with companies like Dallas Theater Center, Kitchen Dog Theatre, Imprint Theatre, Echo Theatre, and Shakespeare Dallas. He has also worked with theaters across the country, such as Trinity Repertory Theatre, Opera Saratoga, and Zachary Scott Theatre. He is currently the Production Electrician for SMU while freelancing on the side.
B R I A N C H R I S T E N S E N , Sound Engineer Brian Christensen is very grateful to be back behind a mixer working with WaterTower Theatre during these strange times. He typically divides his time as an audio engineer, sound designer, writer, composer, musician, and occasional actor. Brian is in his sixth season as Dallas Children’s Theater’s resident audio engineer. Recent other credits include Lizzie, Ghost Quartet, and Murder Ballad with Imprint Theatreworks, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas with Greater Lewisville Contemporary Theatre, among others. His original musicals have been performed in Imprint Theatreworks’ First Impressions Festivals – Hatshepsut was featured in 2019, and Greece! A Musical Comedy in 2020.
K E N N E DY S T Y R O N , Scenic Design A self-described “theatre maker”, Kennedy’s artistic background encompasses work both on and offstage. Kennedy has worked as an actor, a carpenter, a musician, costumer, and a myriad of other positions within the realm of theatre production. Since starting at WaterTower two years ago, their build credits include resident master carpenter at WTT, Giant Entertainment, and Mainstage Irving Las Colinas. Other technical credits include costume/makeup design for LIP Service and Granbury Theatre Company, stage management for Imprint Theatreworks, live musician at Theatre Three, LIP Service, Theatre of North Texas, and music director/composer for Giant Entertainment and North Texas Performing Arts.
