GUILDFORD
Guildford can be found in the heart of Surrey, surrounded by the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town has much to offer visitors looking for a weekend getaway. Named UK’s tourist destination of 2014 by the Tourist Network Awards, Guildford has something for everyone. Whether it’s the hustle and bustle of a popular shopping centre or the rolling hills of the North Downs and scenic Wey River walks, there is enough to keep you busy for the entirety of your trip. It’s easy to see why Guildford now contends with the likes of Windsor, Stratford-upon-Avon and Bath as a popular tourist destination in the UK. With a direct train line to London Waterloo that takes just 40 minutes, Guildford was historically an important trade point between Portsmouth and London. That charming history is still visible today, with a delightful cobbled high street boasting an array of high street and boutique shops.
