In Wave Loch’s never ending pursuit of creating the ultimate ride, our latest offering is a perfectly sculpted, repeatable wave known as the Flying Reef. The Flying Reef delivers real surfing, on real surfboards, and a real surfing experience. It is a perfect wave every time free from crowds, clutter, critters and currents. The Flying reef gives a 360 degree view without bulkheads or buildings. With potentially a kilometer of shoreline, it is the perfect platform for real estate development. The Flying Reef creates a perfect six foot barreling wave at the flip of a switch. Once the wave breaks, it reforms and breaks again on a series of points. This smaller secondary wave will be the magnet to the masses – the beginning surfer’s paradise. Kids on bodyboards and people on the beach create a prime venue to feed your restaurant, retail or hotel.

Learning to surf is difficult enough in the ever changing conditions the ocean has to offer. It can be a brutal repetition of failure after failure. Since the beginning of the “Modern Boardriding Era” the quest has been to find the perfect wave. In the classic ‘60’s film, The Endless Summer, it was found at Cape St Francis, South Africa. This search has carried us throughout the decades, each with their own discoveries. In the year 2008, we bring that search to an end. The Flying Reef consistently delivers the “goods” with a perfect 4-6 foot wave at your call. The Flying Reef offers the surfer new tools for progression. It’s a technology that enables the sublime boardriding experience to be controlled and repeated ad infinitum. Let’s say you’re planning a surf trip to Hawaii. As a regular foot who usually goes right at your local point break, you want to practice your backhand. A consistent session on the left breaking Flying Reef wave could be the perfect answer. Or maybe you just want to learn to do an air. Normally, you wouldn’t take the chance in an ocean packed with surfers and your wave count at a minimum. Attempting an aggressive maneuver on a wave that you finally jockeyed for after waiting 20 minutes in the lineup, on your only day off from work, after a month long flat spell, would be considered a risky proposition.
