IN MY OPINION, THE LITTLE GIRL IS BEING

MADAM WHO IS REALLY BOSSY AND DOES

SUSPENSE IN THE BEATS AND TUNES.

SOMEHOW THE TUNES I PICTURE IN MY

CONTEXT. PROPOSING A NEW DESIGN

CHINATOWN, EU TONG SEN STREET AND

PAVILIONS, SEATING AND EXISTING

FOR THIS GARDEN LINK BRIDGE SHOULD

NEW BRIDGE ROAD WITH EITHER SIDE OF

LANDSCAPE. IT SERVES AS A MAIN TRANSIT

INCORPORATE THE FOLLOWING SUCH AS

THE ROADS SERVE BY THE PEDESTRIAN

FROM PEOPLE’S PARK COMPLEX AND

PRIVATE, SEMI-PRIVATE AND PUBLIC AREAS

OVERHEAD DECK CUM BRIDGE CALLED THE

CENTRE TO PAGODA STREET WHICH

AND HAVING HARD SCAPE AND SOFT

GARDEN LINK BRIDGE WHICH I’VE SHADED

IS A MAJOR MEETING POINT FOR THE

SCAPE ELEMENTS IN THE DESIGN.

BAD ACCESSIBILITY FOR THE OLD PEOPLE LACK OF SHELTER, FLOOR GETS SLIPPERY NOT UNIVERSALLY FRIENDLY OVERCROWDING MANY DEAD SPACES

CONCEPT CHINESE KNOT , MUCH LIKE A CHINESE KNOT, CHINATOWN IS SEPARATED INTO FIVE PRECINCTS, KRETA AYER, TELOK AYER, TANJONG PAGAR, BUKIT PASOH AND ANN SIANG HILL. THIS IS BECAUSE OF THE DIFFERENT DIALECTS. SUCH AS THE HOKKIENS, TEOCHEWS AND THE CANTONESE PEOPLE. WITH SEGREGATION AND SEPARATION IT ACTUALLY RESEMBLES LOOPS AND HOLES IN MY OPINION. HOWEVER, IT IS CONNECTED THROUGH LAYERING AND INTERLOCKING. AS THE ROADS ALL LEAD UP TO THE CENTRAL AREA.

PROCESS SKETCHES THESE ARE SOME OF THE ABSTRACT DRAWINGS AND SKETCHES, WHICH I HAVE DONE. IT IS ABSTRACTED FROM THE IDEA GENERATOR, WHICH I HAVE CHOSEN WHICH IS THE CHINESE KNOT. WHAT I DID WAS TO ACTUALLY USE VERY GEOMETRIC AND ANGULAR SHAPE TO OVERLAY THE IDEA GENERATOR TO GET TO THIS POINT. WHAT IS CUBE ABOUT? CHALLENGE FOR THE URBAN & BUILT ENVIRONMENT (CUBE) IS AN ANNUAL WORKSHOP CUM COMPETITION FOR JUNIOR COLLEGE AND POLYTECHNIC STUDENTS. IT ENABLES PARTICIPANTS TO DELVE INTO THE INTRICACIES OF PLANNING AND URBAN DESIGN FOR SINGAPORE AND GAIN FIRSTHAND EXPERIENCE AS URBAN PLANNERS. ORGANISED BY THE URBAN REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, THIS WORKSHOP AIMS TO INSPIRE A FUTURE GENERATION OF PLANNERS, ARCHITECTS AND URBAN DESIGNERS.

DESIGN BRIEF TO PLAN FOR 3600 DWELLING UNITS IN KALLANG RIVERSIDE PARK AND TO MOVE ONTO A CAR-FREE ENVIRONMENT. MUCH LIKE THE 2030 URA VISION STATEMENT FOR KALLANG TO NOT ONLY MAKE IT ACCESSIBLE BUT TO BE ABLE TO GET AROUND KALLANG BY THE MEANS THROUGH FOOT AND CYCLING. THESE SIMPLE MOVEMENTS OF THE PLATE TECTONICS NOT ONLY RELATES WELL TO THE LANDFORMS BUT THE DAILY HUMAN MOVEMENT SUCH AS THE UP AND DOWN AND SLIDING PASS ONE ANOTHER IS LIKE WALKING UP THE STAIRS CASE OR EVEN JUST WALKING BY A FRIEND OR STRANGER CAN CREATE SUCH SIMPLE MOVEMENTS.
