KM Middle suffers first loss, North Lincoln here Thursday

Kings Mountain Middle School’s boys basketball team suffered its first loss in the division last week to a tough East Lincoln team, 43-37 in overtime.

The Patriots were scheduled to play Lincolnton Monday and will host North Lincoln Thursday.

The score went back and forth in last week’s game before KM’s Silas Tate and KJ Bell hit a pair of threes and Xavier Hutchens chipped in with six points as KM took a 14-10 lead heading into the second quarter.

Bell made two more threes as he scored 10 of his game-high 16 points to help the Patriots to a 28-17 lead at halftime.
