Kings Mountain Police Department became aware of rumors on social media sites of an active shooter threat at Kings Mountain High School on Thursday, January 26, and posted on Facebook that KMPD officers and Cleveland County school officials were actively investigating these rumors and would advise further information when information became available.
Later in the day, authorities concluded that “there had been no credible information or evidence that suggest a threat was made toward KMHS or any other school within our community, or Cleveland County.”
In a Facebook post on Thursday afternoon, KMHS stated, “Late last night we were made aware of a possible threat to our school. The administration along with the Kings no new certificate of title.
