Bullock Building condemned

The Bullock Building at 126 W. Mountain Street in Kings Mountain was condemned by City of Kings Mountain and a notice was posted. The notice reads, “This structure is unsafe for human occupancy pursuant to NCGS 160D-1119. The use or occupation of this building for human habitation is prohibited and unlawful due to either defective construction, dilapidation, decay, insanitation, unsafe wiring or heating system, inadequate means of egress, damage by fire or wind, overloaded floors and/or fire hazard.”

The notice was signed by Building Inspector Clint Houser on January 6, 2023.

Patterned after the Alpha Kappa Alpha So- rority, Inc.’s Debutant Ball Cotillion with “Petite Pearls of Excellence”, “Masters of Distinction” is designed with workshops and activities giving young boys ages 6 - 11 confidence by learning skills necessary for life.

The owner of the property has until April 25 to respond to the city before further action is taken.

The first participants meeting will be held on Saturday, February 4, at 10 a.m. at Mt. Zion Mission- ary Baptist Church Family Life Center. Any boy between the ages of 6 and 11 by May 20, 2023, may participate. The last day to register and pay the $25 participation fee is Friday, February 10.
