Middle School tennis beats East Rutherford
Kings Mountain Middle School’s tennis team defeated East Rutherford 8-1 Monday at the KMHS courts. The only loss was at the #3 doubles with a substitution to give some inexperienced players an opportunity to play.
Coach Ed Guy said he is pleased with the progress his young team is making. The Patriots have extended their record to 3-1 on the season going into a match today at Thomas Jefferson. The Patriots will host Burns Thursday at the KMHS courts.
“Our players who are not starters are getting an opportunity to play matches for the experience,” Coach Guy said. “The number of extra matches depends on how many players the opponents have. With a large team (27 players) it is impossible for everyone to play in a match, but they are gaining experience to be ready for next year.”
Singles: Seanna Simon (KM) def. Julia Hutchens 8-0; Dominic Allen (KM) def. Grayson Yanokie 8-1; Cindy Tipton (KM) def. Colton King 8-0; Marquise Thomas (KM) def. Colby
