IN THE ALBERTON MARKET Overall activity has remained relatively stable in the first half of 2017, compared to the first half of 2016 with only a 0,7% decrease in the total number of transfers across the Alberton area as a whole.

The biggest drop in transfer activity can be seen in the R2,5m-R3m price range, with a significant drop of 34,3% in the number of transfers between 2016 & 2017.

There was an increase of 18,52% in the number of transfers in the R1,5m - R2m price bracket, making this the price range with the biggest increase in activity for the period.

The above graphs represent the overall transfers in each respective price bracket for Jan-June 2016 compared to 2017 and the role each bracket played in the overall transfers activity for the entire Alberton market. By and large the bulk of property transactions concluded in the area are in the 3 brackets making up the R800k to R2m mark, with only a small % being in the high end luxury market. There has been a marked decrease in the R800k-R1,2m range, dropping from 30% of the market for 2016 to 24% in 2017.
