A recipe for designing your kitchen OUR INSPIRATION LOOKBOOK
Kitchens of distinction and the one just for you There are lots of ways to create a great kitchen. The key is to design one around your style and your life. Here are some Wayne Homes kitchens that we love, along with some things to think about while you envision your dream kitchen.

Cabinets make the kitchen. So will they be stained or painted? Shaker style, recessed panel or raised panel? Will they go all the way to the ceiling? Will the uppers match the lowers? (Recent trends say mix it up.) Remember to think about your preferred appliances too. Like a gourmet cooktop and double wall ovens, perhaps. And we recommend soft close drawers and doors.

BACKSPLASH OPTIONS
Countertops There’s more to choosing countertops than meets the eye. Laminate countertops have come a long way, so don’t think twice if you like the price. Then again, you can’t go wrong choosing granite or quartz. Keep in mind, you’ll need to choose the edge design: squared, roundover, beveled, or eased. And don’t forget about the backsplash. It’s one of the first things anyone notices when they walk into your kitchen, so go classic or go bold, but go with your heart.

people naturally gather. You can make it a peninsula, attached to a wall to add surface area or free-floating. You can consider “waterfall-style,” continuing your countertops with a 90-degree turn down the side, from edge to floor, to give it a modern look. Will you serve meals here? If so, add an eat ledge (raised or flush) and some stools. The back can be crafted in beadboard or shiplap. The island can match the perimeter cabinets’ stain or paint color but it doesn’t have to. In fact, it can take on the appearance of a separate piece of furniture altogether with a different countertop surface like butcherblock, for instance, and Craftsman-style legs for support.

HARDWARE FINISH
Hardware Satin nickel? Oil-rubbed bronze? Stylized or simple? This is where you put the finishing touch on your kitchen, giving your cabinets and drawers both character and utility. The knobs and pulls you choose are something you might not notice a lot, but you’ll use them every day. Don’t overthink it. Hardware is easy to update on a whim. For now, just go with something that feels like it belongs in your kitchen. Chrome

UPPER CABINET GLASS DOORS
Everything else and the kitchen sink This is your kitchen, so make it what you truly want. Perhaps you’ll go for a vented range over the stovetop for serious cooking, upper cabinet glass doors to show off your fine china, roll out trays for easy access to pots and pans, a walk-in pantry to keep your kitchen wellstocked, or a farmhouse-style sink for that timeless look. This is the time to dream, so dream big. And if you’re having trouble deciding, don’t worry … between our True Design program and our dedicated design team, we’ll help cook up just the right kitchen for you.
