All Summer BLOCK Time classes meet from 9:00 am–noon at the Wayzata Family Learning Center.
Spanish ‘Round the World
Class #S400 June 8–12, 2015, 9:30–Noon ($175 for 5 days)
For children 42+ months (on or before June 1, 2015), but not yet in kindergarten Senora McCartney’s preschool Spanish series is the perfect way to kick off your child’s summer adventures. Every day in class we’ll “travel” to a different Spanish speaking country to discover its foods, culture, dance, crafts, animals, and most of all, language. We’ll sing songs in Spanish, dance, play a game and make crafts—building children’s Spanish vocabulary along the way. Each day there will be a special snack, including some ethnic treats made during class. This class fills quickly!
Camp Peppermint Fence For children 2 to 5 years old (on or before September 1, 2014), but not yet in kindergarten.
Camp Peppermint Fence is the best of summer and the best of preschool! Children will be grouped in classes by age. Your “camper” will: • • • •

Coming this fall... Thrilling Tuesdays! The Wayzata Family Learning Center will be hosting three different themed activities throughout the year for families with children ages 2-5! Children must attend with a parent or caring adult. Register online for one, two, or all three of these special activities today! October 20, 2015: Llama, Llama Red Pajama Literacy Party—Don’t forget to wear some red pajamas to school! Mom and dad can come dressed for the party too!

Satisfaction Guaranteed! 1. ECFE is guaranteed affordable! No one will be turned away due to inability to pay. Depending on your family income and size, you may qualify for a 20%80% fee discount. Your call for financial assistance will be handled with respect and confidentiality. Call 763-745-5290. 2. Pay in installments: Fees for full-year classes are paid in three installments. 3. District 284 staff discount: Save $10 off the fee for one ECFE class! 4. Newcomers discount: Very first time in ECFE? Save $10 on your first installment. 5. Not a good fit? Siblings PLUS Siblings PLUS is a program of Peppermint Fence PLUS. This exceptional program is available to siblings of children enrolled in a daytime ECFE class. Infant siblings under 4 months of age may stay with their parent in an ECFE class or in Siblings PLUS. If your baby is over 4 months, or will turn 4 months during the class series, you will need to register for Siblings PLUS or find other child care whenever they reach that age.

Request a HUG Visit! Wayzata Schools and HUG offer free home visits to all district families from birth to one year old. The visit includes a “Welcome New Baby” gift and current information on community resources, parenting and brain-based learning. The home visits are individually completed with a licensed Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) specialist. Exactly What You Need!
BLOCK Time, our popular play and learn program is designed and licensed for children 16 months to 5 years. The playbased curriculum is individualized for each child’s age and taught by a licensed early childhood teacher. Families unable to commit to a full year in Peppermint Fence Preschool find this to be a great alternative for their 2–5 year old.

Peppermint Fence Preschool Excellence for the Whole Child Kindergarten Readiness • Your child will grow and achieve academically, emotionally, socially, and physically toward kindergarten readiness. • Your preschooler will have fun! Play is the “work” of children, so our research-based curriculum focuses on learning through play.
Wayzata Public Schools • We are Wayzata Public Schools’ only licensed, internationally accredited preschool. We have full access to the district’s resources. • We actively partner with Wayzata Early Childhood Special Education in all our classes. Some classes are team taught with an ECSE teacher.
Parent Education and Support • If your child is not yet potty trained, we will work with you. All children are welcome here. • 2+ classes include a weekly parent/child day with interaction time and an adult-only time for parent education and support. The second day is for children only.
Safety and Health • Safety is our top priority. • We are a nut-aware facility. • Nutritious snacks are provided daily at no charge.

Every year, Peppermint Fence is awarded four stars—the highest possible score—from Parent Aware, Minnesota’s rigorous assessment tool for early childhood care and education. Peppermint Fence is also accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC.org), the international gold standard of excellence. Peppermint Fence begins the week of Tuesday, September 8, 2015, with conferences for you, your child, and the teacher. You’ll meet together in a relaxed setting, allowing your child to explore the new classroom. You will choose a conference day and time in August. Actual preschool classes begin the week of September 14. Parent/teacher conferences are also held in November 2015 and March 2016.
A one-time annual, non-refundable registration fee of $75 per family is required when registering for either Peppermint Fence Preschool or any BLOCK Time, but not both.

Extended Day! Expand your child’s Peppermint Fence learning experiences through our Extended Day curriculum. Extended Day is available for 36+ month-olds, 8–9:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.–3:30 p.m. on your child’s preschool days. Cost is $8.50 per hour when you sign up at least 24 hours in advance, $9.00 per hour for same-day sign up (space permitting). Important: Peppermint Fence classes run from September 14, 2015, through June 10, 2016. These classes are intended for children who are enrolled and can attend for the full school year. If you are unable to commit for the full 34 weeks, please choose a session of BLOCK Time (page 5). All classes are located in the Wayzata Family Learning Center at Central Middle School.
Two Years Old as of September 1, 2015 2+ classes: Parents attend with their children on the first day of each week. After parent/child activities, parents separate for parent group education and support with a parent educator. Sibling care is available for these days at a cost of $60/month. Class

4K-Enhanced Kindergarten Readiness class
for children entering kindergarten the Fall of 2016 Class: 4K Days: T/W/Th Time: 11:45am–3:45pm Cost: Nine installments of $506 + the cost of hot lunch or bring your own lunch each day. Location: Family Learning Center Students will experience a longer day, eat lunch at school, and have extended pre-kindergarten skill practice.
Early Childhood Screening Early Childhood Screening is a free, quick, simple and important check of how your child is progressing in his/ her development. Screening is recommended when a child is three to four years of age and must be completed prior to starting kindergarten in any Minnesota public school. Early childhood developmental screening helps a school district identify children who may benefit from district and community resources available to help in their development. You attend the screening with your child and receive a full report of how your child is growing, developing, and learning following the screening. 2015-2016 Online Parenting Classes Online classes will consist of five weekly forums (online discussions that you can participate in at times convenient for you) and two online chats (realtime discussions with class members online at the same time). The two chats will be scheduled with participant input. Please register for classes through our online registration system.
