Arrival'at'School'

Oakwood’s1student1day1begins1at17:45am1and1students1should1be1in1their1classrooms.1Buses1arrive1 at17:35am.1This1helps1the1staff1make1maximum1use1of1before@ school1meeting1and1planning1time,1 and1ensures1that1students1are1entering1classrooms1where1staff1and1teachers1are1ready1to1welcome1 and1supervise1them.1 1 If1a1child1arrives1at1school1after17:45am,1he/she1is1considered1tardy1and1the1parent1must1 accompany1the1child1to1the1School1Office.1In1order1to1be1admitted1to1class,1sign1the1child1in1and1 have1them1obtain1a1pass1from1the1front1office.1 1 If$your$child$does$not$take$the$bus$to$school,$do$not$drop$him/her$off$before$7:35$a.m.$Our$ school$doors$do$not$open$until$7:35$a.m.1

Definitions:'

Background'Checks'for'all'Wayzata'Public'School'Employees'

For1the1safety1of1all1of1our1children,1a1thorough1background1check1is1done1on1each1and1every1 employee1hired1by1the1Wayzata1Public1School1District.1 1 All1volunteers1who1work1directly1with1children1are1also1subject1to1a1thorough1background1check1 prior1to1being1allowed1to1volunteer1within1the1school.1 1 No1individual1will1be1allowed1to1work1in1the1Wayzata1Public1School1District1if they1fail1the1 background1check1or1it1their1background1status1report1is1in1question.1

Cell'Phones'

If1students1bring1a1cell1phone1to1school,1it1must1remain1in1the1school1backpack1during1school1hours.1 Cell1phones1are1also1not1allowed1on1the1school1bus.1If1an1emergency1arises,1and1a1student1needs1to1 contact1their1parent1during1the1school1day,1they1can1get1permission1from1the1classroom1teacher1to1 use1the1classroom1phone.1Any1and1all1other1special1requests1will1be1handled1through1the1school1 office.1 1 If1a1student1is1found1using1a1cell1phone1during1the1school1day,1the1phone1will1be1confiscated1and1 placed1in1the1school1office.1The1student1will1be1asked1to1pick1the1phone1up1at1the1end1of1the1day.1 1 Parents1will1be1contacted1and1special1disciplinary1action1may1be1taken1by1the1school1principal1in1 the1event1that1this1becomes1an1ongoing1problem,1or1in1the1event1that1an1inappropriate1or1 unauthorized1call1is1made1from1school.1
