Department of Civil Engineering The Department of Civil Engineering strives to create outstanding engineers. Advanced teaching techniques and learning aids for undergraduate students and state-of-the-art research facilities for postgraduate and doctoral students not only make them experts in technical aspects but also in interpersonal skills - a vital ingredient to excel in this fast paced world.

The purpose of Civil Engineering Department is to advance the cause of the profession through teaching and research and to produce technically knowledgeable, well rounded graduates who have the capability of developing into professionally competent engineers pursuing life-long learning and assuming leadership roles in the profession. In civil Engineering the emphasis is on technical, professional, ethical, and social responsibilities associated with the practice of engineering.

The Department offers major areas of Mechanical Engineering like design, thermal and manufacturing engineering in both full time and part time mode. Research areas include Nano Tribology, Alternate Fuel for IC Engines, Cold Thermal Storage, BioCAD, Computer Aided Assembly Planning and Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV). The program enables the students to take up careers in a broad spectrum of industries. Many of the IT industries have CAD/CIM divisions, which increases the job potential of mechanical engineers. Department of Mining Engineering Mining engineering is a division of engineering which studies the techniques for extracting minerals from natural environment that involves the energy sources, non-metallic and metallic ores and solid fuels. The mining technique involves blasting, production, processing, drilling, marketing, extraction and development. Apart from these techniques the main task of mining engineers is to check that the project on which they are working is environmentally safe and not destroying the natural environment. Mining engineers must have the knowledge about the underground and opencast coal or ore mining. This field of work has a lot of job prospects as India is the land of natural resources.

Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement of teeth that look, feel and function like natural teeth. Anti Ragging Policy Ragging in any form inside or outside the college campus is banned/prohibited vide Prohibition of Ragging in Educational Institutions Act passed by the Parliament. Ragging means doing an act that causes or is likely to cause insult or annoyance or fear or apprehension, threat or intimidation or outrage of modesty or injury to a student. To curb the practice of ragging on the pretext of interaction, the students are instructed not to meet the seniors and engage in any sort of conversation. The students are instructed not to spend their time with seniors even if they are known or related to them. However a friendly interaction is allowed under the presence of a senior faculty member.

Outsiders are prohibited from entering the college premises without permission.

All students must carry their identity cards and show them when demanded.

The principal and staff will visit and inspect the hostel rooms at any time.

Girl students must be in their hostel rooms before 7 p.m.

Suspended students are debarred form entering the campus except when required to attend to submit an explanation.

Ragging invokes suspension and dismissal from the college.

Ragging entails heavy fines or imprisonment.
