The Mad World Of Brazil Soccer There is no doubting how passionate Brazil soccer really is and this passion comes from not only the players but also the supporters who follow their team through it all. This passion is shown for almost the entire year as the main teams play in two leagues giving their supporters the chance to show their support almost continuously. This is because the main teams actually play in both the national championship as well as their own state league with this starting in January of every year. The result of this is them playing a lot of games and when you also factor in the national cup competition you can see that people are able to watch games for eleven months of the year. This passion is shown at any game and not just the massive city derbies that take place. The derby games do create an exceptionally tense atmosphere and it can be dangerous to go to them but there is something magical about games between the likes of Flamengo and Fluminense. A lot of it can perhaps be put down to the fact that it really is still a game for the working class which is different to countries in Europe where there is a tendency for it to now be too expensive. A lot of the top players also tend to come from these poorer backgrounds so there is a greater affinity between player and supporter than elsewhere. Every club tends to have their very own ultras groups which are full of people who really do live for the club and try to get to any game. They are known for their organisation and due to the sheer numbers of them in the group they do also normally have some influence within the club itself. If you know anything about the game then you shall be aware of the names that this country has produced but it does mean there is a constant search for the next Pele. The outcome of this is that any young player that shows a hint of ability then seems to be labeled as the next big thing which does tend to put so much pressure on their shoulders before they have even developed.
