View Corridor Multi-Family Housing Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
As the capital city of Nova Scotia, Canada. Halifax is the largest city in Atlantic Canada. Founded in 1749, Halifax Harbor has played a central role in the physical, cultural, and economic character of the city. To consider the historical and cultural importance of the port, the arrangement and organization of space prioritize the view of Halifax Harbor. The central stairs, as the public realms, reinterpret the traditional multifamily housing typology and at the same time function as a transition between exterior and interior space. While approaching to the private zone, in-between spaces create gradients of privacy by controlling the views and enlongating the distance. Considering to the harsh weather, rainscreen facade system as theh enclosure intermediate between the exterior and interior.

Design For Healing Community Clinic in Slum Kibera, Narobi, Kenya
Kibera, situated on the outskirts of Nairobi with an estimated population of one million, suffers from inadequate housing, overcrowding, poor or non-existent sanitation, and grinding poverty, tribal conflicts. The community clinic sits in Linda sector of Kibera informal settlement aims to power its new sanitation block along with a clinic to serve the community. Sitting in between the Kibera and the city, this clinic also utilizes the public space to gather the community and bridge the conflicts among tribes. By transforming vernacular Kenya spatial planning, the clinic utilized the front and back entrance and brings honor to traditional architecture. This project also used local material clay brick to promote more job opportunities for local labor.

Testing Durability and Resilience:
GFRC is customizable with different textures and variety of colors that can be a collaborative decision with our client (OT Medical Team) to acclimate to the patient's needs. Currently, the selected finish follows Building Block's preset library of color and texture to match the surrounding context.
The exceptional durability allows for thinner, lighter, and stronger panels that can be cast in larger sizes than natural stone, resulting in less expensive attachment systems. It is resilient to F5 tornado (250mph)that can fend off debris that can potentially puncture through traditional timber walls. Combining with WINCO’s windows that is also shatter proof from flying debris, the exterior envelope is more resilient and durable against the natural disaster. In addition, with the smooth GFRC exterior customized pattern the house become more dynamic and elegant compared to traditional plain concrete finishes.

The Heating and Domestic Hot Water System will use the Synergy 3D ground source heat pump and stored in either the GEO Tank or Domestic Hot Water Tank. From the GEO Tank, water will flow into the Warmboard-S radiant floor system. From the domestic hot water tank, water will flow through the plumbing system to the rest of the house.

Sustainability Mass Timber Public Library Hawai, United States
Located in Hilo, Hawaii, the library focuses on the sustainability and minimizes the impact on the environment. The concept of conditioned & unconditioned space was clearly illustrated by the insulated bookstack core and perforated reading space. The foldable louver system as the facade allows people to freely enjoy Hawaii breathing and forged an intimate relationship with the nature. Structurally, the library uses cross-laminated timber structure and the post tensioned rocking CLT shear wall system to control the humidity and temperature is applied in the bookstack conditioned space.
