WCAPS Celebrates Black History Month Women of Color Advancing Peace and Security (WCAPS) is pleased to recognize Black History Month during February. This year, WCAPS will be honoring the pillars of African American history and the Black women who have broken barriers in the field of international peace, diplomacy, and foreign affairs. As we continue to bridge the diversity gap amongst black women, we are delighted to reflect on our nation's progress to include their expertise in foreign affairs in the field of peace and security. WCAPS is encouraging its members to take part and join them on social media as they honor Black women who have and persist in contributing to raising the voices of women of color in the international community. "The last year has brought renewed energy and momentum for Black women in the U.S. and women of color globally in international affairs," said Shalonda Spencer, Executive Director of WCAPS. "During Black History Month we will honor the trailblazers who continue to lead the way for women of color in this space."
