FRO M T H E HE AD OF SCH OOL Dear Family and Friends of Westminster Christian Academy, It is with heartfelt gratitude that I present to you our 2022-2023 Annual Report. As you read through the following pages, I trust you will be inspired by God’s abundant grace towards Westminster Christian Academy and the remarkable blessings He has bestowed on our students, staff, and families. The Lord has granted us the marvelous responsibility and privilege of nurturing and equipping our young men and women to become faithful servants of Christ in college, career, church, and community. They are being equipped and molded through Christcentered, world-class, and pioneering academic and extracurricular programs. Our teachers, coaches, and staff are not only highly skilled but also possess a deep passion for guiding and caring for each student. Their work fosters spiritual growth, instills a love for Christ, and teaches students to apply biblical principles to every aspect of life. This year, our focused goal is to enable students to manifest their Faith in Action. We seek to cultivate in them integrity in conduct and speech, excellence in service and skills, and compassion in relationships and community engagement. As we embark on a new year, let us take a moment to offer thanks to God for His continued blessings upon Westminster and rejoice in the many ways He is actively transforming the lives of our students, allowing them to articulate and demonstrate their faith in thought, word, and deed. A Westminster parent encapsulated our mission beautifully: You have valued and affirmed my son as a child of God. We are amazed and deeply grateful for the endless commitment and generosity of the WCA community.
With warm regards and blessings,

The Board of Directors and I extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who contributes to the Westminster Christian Academy experience. It is a joy and privilege to partner with you in preparing and equipping our students to engage the world and change it for Jesus Christ. We also thank God for the ways He abundantly provides for our school. He works through faculty, volunteers, donors, families, and prayer warriors to ensure His gospel and grace permeate school life. We are part of a remarkable community. Matthew Ring Board President

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ AC TS 20 : 35

Leading With Service For decades now, the 12th grade class at Westminster has participated in Senior Service, where they go into the St. Louis community every Thursday morning to help and serve others — in schools, retirement homes, animal shelters, hospitals, and more. Here are some lessons seniors learned last year.
WHAT THE COMMUNITY SAYS “Village residents and staff rave about Westminster students’ positive attitudes, willingness to help, problem-solving skills, and professional personalities. I look forward to years of future collaboration.”

“This year, I served at Kirkwood Animal Hospital. I cleaned exam rooms, but I also got to observe surgery and assist the veterinary doctors. I learned it’s not about you when you’re doing it; it’s about the people you’re serving, making their day easier, and showing them the love of Christ.”
L I Z Z Y CR OW E ‘ 23 “I served at Neuwoehner School for Children with Disabilities. I learned it can be easy to look over people when I’m dealing with my own life, but everybody needs help. It feels like it’s now my duty to make sure everyone feels included.”
LO GA N J O N E S ‘ 23 “I worked at Mercy Hospital this year. Going in for service made me realize how much all of us need service at some point. Maybe today, it’ll be me helping someone at Mercy Hospital, and maybe 20 years from now, I’ll be the person who needs help.”

N EW SERVICE PROG RAM T H IS Y E A R In 2023-24, students from every grade will go out into the community and serve others. Pray for our students as they use their gifts to show Christ’s love and learn more about themselves through serving. 5
Applying Faith in the Classroom Our educators are exceptional at teaching various subjects through the lens of Scripture – from the sciences and mathematics to drama, writing, history, and languages. Students learn how to apply knowledge with an informed faith and benefit from hands-on experiences throughout their courses. Our Bible curriculum likewise prepares students to articulate and defend a Christian worldview and learn how to use their skills in ways that serve and honor God.

MISSION Westminster Christian Academy honors Jesus Christ by providing an excellent education, rooted in biblical truth as interpreted by the Westminster Confession of Faith, for the children of Christian parents. Faculty and staff enable students to discover and embrace a biblical view of the world and integrate that view into every area of life.

Engaging the World for Jesus This summer, you could find Westminster students, teachers, and staff living out their faith all around the world!
AF RICA N VISI ON OF HOPE
Five Westminster faculty members traveled to African Vision of Hope in Zambia, which provides free education, food, medical care, and shelter to children in extreme poverty. Our teachers provided training in pedagogy, leadership, and teaching from a Biblical worldview. They also visited the new STEM school, which Westminster helped to fund. “While we traveled there to teach, we were taught as well. I learned that the joy of Christ is not bound to circumstances. I heard story after story of God’s work in the lives of children and adults who were rescued out of suffering and need. This experience changed me, and I will never be the same.”

SA EMMUL CHRIST I AN ACADEM Y
God has used Westminster’s 15-year partnership with Saemmul Christian Academy to reach hundreds of students in South Korea with the Gospel. They opened in 2009 with 72 students and now have a K-12 school with 650 students and growing. This summer, Westminster students, teachers, and alumni traveled to Seoul, South Korea, to host an English camp for 5th and 6th graders. “Watching the Westminster students step out of their comfort zone, challenge themselves to communicate and live with people of another culture is so rewarding. Watching them realize that our God created a beautiful world rich in culture and diversity is always inspiring. Our Global Partnerships and the opportunities for our students to participate in these trips fulfill Westminster’s vision!”

All Glory to God
We are blessed at Westminster with amazing, God-given talent in athletics and the arts!
Our Wildcats play their hearts out in over 25 varsity sports. Last year, we saw our boys basketball scoring record broken, girls volleyball won their second straight state championship, and we had several state medalists and a team victory in girls swimming and diving!

Honor God In All That We Do You’ll see these words when you walk out of Westminster’s Grand Entry. They’re our goal.
On the playing field, on stage, in the classroom, and in the community, our prayer is for Westminster students to discover and use gifts in ways that bring honor to God. Athletic achievements are exciting. Artistic accomplishments are deserved. Academic success is our aim. But at the end of the day, and after each school year, we want this verse in Colossians to ring true. 18
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. CO LOSS I A N S 3:17 19

THANK YOU! I am so grateful for the generosity of the Westminster community. Once again, you have exemplified the grace of giving, serving, and praying to ensure more students are prepared and equipped to engage the world and change it for Jesus Christ. God’s providence of nearly $3.7 million in gifts this year is a testament to His faithfulness and your willingness to be used by Him to further our mission. Thank you! It’s my hope that this report demonstrates the remarkable impact of your giving—young lives transformed by gospelminded teachers and coaches serving in an environment with the resources needed to provide a truly excellent education rooted in biblical truth. As we continue this year, guided by our theme of Faith in Action, may the Lord inspire us to give even more, thus increasing the promised blessing both for others and for us. Amen! Thank you again for your commitment to Westminster. God continues to use you to further his purposes for our students and advance his kingdom. With Gratitude,

“To me, the phrase ‘it is more blessed to give than to receive’ is a testament to how we were created. As humans we find greater, true pleasure in serving others rather than when we please ourselves. God created us to be in community and we find satisfaction when we work, and more specifically bless others in this work.”
