2013 Annual Donor Report
Created to make a difference.
The Westminster Vision To prepare more young men and women to engage the world and change it for Jesus Christ.
From the Head of School One of the most enjoyable parts of my job as head of school at Westminster is meeting all the people who love the school and who are eager to see it flourish. People often ask me to share my observations about the school – where we are and where we are going together. My answer nearly always includes the words vision, opportunity, challenge, and partners.
Vision. The Westminster community demonstrated a bold vision for its future by moving to the Town & Country campus at a total cost of nearly $70 million.
Opportunity. We now have the opportunity to impact an expanded number of students in greater St. Louis and many thousands more worldwide with our distinctive mission by influencing the global movement of Christian schooling.
Tom Stoner, EdD Head of School
Challenge. Our challenge is to grab hold of the extraordinary opportunity before us by giving our best to ensure that Westminster thrives well into the future.
Partners. Strong partnerships with parents, grandparents, and alumni families have brought us to this remarkable place in our history, and the strength of these same partnerships will sustain our strategic mission in the years ahead. We at Westminster are deeply grateful to so many of you who have given generously of your time, talents, and resources year after year. On behalf of all the lives touched by the school, please accept our heartfelt thanks. This donor report is designed to provide you with a clear picture of the extraordinary financial progress we have made to date and details regarding the financial realities relating to our budget and current debt as we press forward together. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

“Westminster provided me a solid foundation of faith and learning; it’s where I experienced the power of the cross and the beauty of the gospel. I’ve often reflected that the cultivation of my faith during my high school years equipped me to better understand and traverse the challenges and brokenness of this world.” Susan Maynor ’86
The Westminster Mission Westminster honors Jesus Christ by providing an excellent education, rooted in biblical truth as interpreted by the Westminster Confession of Faith, for the children of Christian parents. Faculty and staff enable students to discover and embrace a biblical view of the world and integrate that view into every area of life.
From the Board President When I walk the halls of Westminster Christian Academy and see the things that our students are learning and achieving, I’m reminded how their creativity and convictions reflect the image of their Creator. As we advance through our third year at the new campus, we rejoice in the blessings of new lessons, new faces, new programs, and, for the first time in nearly 30 years, a new head of school. Some things remain unchanged, though. We are committed to our mission to prepare more young men and women to engage the world and impact it on behalf of Jesus Christ. To do that, we recognize the need to honor Him in our pursuit of excellence while maintaining a financially sustainable institution. Your faithfulness in prayer, financial support, and time have been important parts of this pursuit, and we trust that God will continue to use them in the advancement of His school. Please take time to review the enclosed financial summary. We thought it might be helpful to show what your tuition and giving are supporting. Thank you for your ongoing investment in Westminster Christian Academy, and Soli Deo Gloria!

“When the St. Louis community thinks of Westminster Christian Academy, they think of a quality education, amazing athletics, and a gorgeous facility. When we think of Westminster, we think of so much more. We think of the incredible staff and teachers who devote their time and lives to our children. We consider the hours they spend preparing for classes and the way they pray for our children daily. We know that this school is special because our children are not only getting the finest education but are also being taught, loved, and mentored by men and women who adore the Lord Jesus Christ. Carol Yeager
Parents Advancing Westminster (PAW), Westminster’s parent organization, supports the school’s vision and programs through volunteer efforts. PAW is designed to bring Westminster parents together to use their combined gifts, talents, and ideas to serve the school, build Christian community, and further the Westminster vision. If you have (or have had) a student at Westminster, you are PAW!

“The difference was teachers and coaches who invested in me as a person. Those enduring relationships have always made me want to achieve at the highest level possible and at a level that was pleasing to God.” Steve Horn ’83
Our faculty and staff have a strong faith in Jesus Christ and view teaching not only as a job but also as a calling. They are driven by excellence, care deeply about their students, and are willing to develop healthy, nurturing relationships in and outside the classroom.

The Vision of a Westminster Graduate The Westminster graduate loves the Lord with all his heart and walks with Him. He knows that God created him with purpose and that He has gifted and equipped him for a life of service to Him and other people. He understands the world around him and why people are the way they are. He believes in the value of learning, works hard to develop his gifts, and is growing to be all that he can be. He is equipped to be the right kind of leader in his church, family, school, and work. He is the type of employee that any ministry, company, or organization wants to have on its team. He is committed to the ideas this country was built upon and is ready to have a voice in the public square. He honors the Lord by honoring his parents and his experience at Westminster by pressing on toward the high calling of Christ Jesus.
