What is Kendrick, Inc.?

Kendrick, Inc. is a family owned and operated company in Edgewood, Iowa. It is owned by Tim & Rhonda Kendrick and employs 100 people from Edgewood and the surrounding communities, four of which are Tim & Rhonda’s children, Kerra, Andrea, Morgan, and Kirby. Kendrick, Inc. has five businesses under its brand. Kendrick Forest Products, Forever Cabinets by Kendrick, Kendrick Home, Shimlee, and The Markket.

What is Kendrick Forest Products?

Tim’s father Don Kendrick Sr. owned and operated a sawmill in Edgewood from 1954-1978. In 1983 Tim & Rhonda purchased the sawmill back and along with their team of hardworking and dedicated employees have since grown Kendrick Forest Products to become the largest sawmill in the State of Iowa sawing over 11 million board feet per year. They sell veneer logs, kiln dried lumber, and colorize and bag landscaping mulch.

What is Kendrick Home? At Kendrick Home we design and manufacture wooden signs which we then sell wholesale across the US. All of the signs are designed in house by staffed artists and manufactured in our facilities using leftover wood from our sawmill. If you’re interested in carrying our line in your store register to become a retailer at www.kendrickhome.net. Kendrick Home made its first debut at AmericasMart Atlanta in 2017.

What is shimlee.™?

Shimlee is an internet-based printing company created by Kendrick, Inc. using leftover wood from our sawmill. Shimlee specializes in printing YOUR photographs onto real, North American hardwoods. Shimlee began in 2017 and all of the wood that goes into the prints comes from our sawmill.

What is Forever Cabinets?

In 2001, Kendrick, Inc. purchased a small cabinet shop and relocated it to Edgewood. Forever Cabinets has staffed designers eager to help our clients design the home of their dreams. Specializing in kitchens, we design and build cabinetry for all areas of the home including but not limited to bathrooms, laundry rooms, entertainment centers, and bars. We are a custom cabinet shop producing quality pieces out of North American hardwoods.

The Young family began serving the heating and cooling needs of the Cedar Valley in the 1880s as The Young Coal Company and later began harvesting and selling ice to local customers in 1903. In 1943, brothers Dick and Bob Young created Young Heating Company, a business that began selling and servicing oil burners and, later, natural gas burners and furnaces as well as plumbing and eventually air conditioning by the mid-1950s.
