Our Campuses Clydebank
Greenock
Paisley
The Clydebank Campus opened in 2007 at a cost of ÂŁ34 million. It provides truly state of the art facilities in every department and allows students to study with the most advanced technology available. The campus building incorporates modern teaching areas, science labs and facilities, highly equipped engineering and construction workshops (including the Babcock School of Engineering), advanced sporting facilities, hair and beauty salons, a training dining room and a conference suite.
There are two campuses in Greenock. Finnart Street, is a modern, seven storey teaching block with extensive, wellequipped workshops attached. Recent redevelopments to the concourse area has created a modern open space which provides a welcoming reception area, a new Food Hall, Learning Centre, CafĂŠ, Shop, Learner Support and Advice Centre, and Salon all of which combine to create a superb ambience. In addition, there is a brand new spa salon on site. The Waterfront Campus, boasts superb views over the River Clyde with fantastic facilities, including a refectory, student break-out rooms and Library.
The Paisley Campus is dedicated, to providing a first class learning environment for all its students, staff and communities. It has changed significantly in recent years with new buildings and renovations to existing campus facilities ensuring that state of the art teaching and student facilities provide a variety of services to enhance the student experience.

West College Scotland
Welcome to A New College Experience There has never been a more exciting time to be a student in the West of Scotland. On 1 August 2013 Clydebank College, James Watt College (Inverclyde) and Reid Kerr College merged to create a vibrant new college for the region. We have built on our individual strengths, specialisms and expertise to collectively create a college that our students are proud to be a part of. As one of Scotland’s largest colleges with campus locations in Clydebank, Greenock and Paisley and over 400 courses to choose from, I am sure you will find a course that is right for you. Our staff in each of the three campuses are committed to making sure your experience from the first moment you contact us to the moment you graduate, and beyond, is a positive one.
We are here to help and encourage you to achieve your goals through teaching of the highest quality, using new technologies and backed by outstanding support services at our three campus locations. I hope this Course Guide gives you a flavour of what is on offer and I would encourage you to access our web site and other on line services to get to know more about the College and what it is like to be a student here. I look forward to welcoming you to the College in the near future and wish you every success in your chosen path.

Qualification Levels National Certificate
Higher National Diploma
A National Certificate (NC) is sometimes suitable for students with no formal qualifications. They offer practical help in developing skills for work and can, in some instances, provide access to higher level programmes such as an HNC or HND.
A Higher National Diploma (HND) takes one year to complete and is only undertaken after successful completion of the relevant HNC. It is a valuable higher level qualification which can lead to employment. Alternatively graduates on some courses can transfer to the second or third year of a university degree course.
NC, NA or NQ programmes are a combination of academic theory and practical work based skills.
Higher National Certificate A Higher National Certificate (HNC) takes one year to complete. Successful completion of an HNC allow applicants to apply to a HND programme (in the same subject). It may also be possible to progress to Year 1 or Year 2 of a university degree programme with suitable grades from an HNC.
