Lifeline Lifeline is a personal alarm scheme run by Warwick District Council which offers the security of a 24 hours a day, 365 days a year emergency helpline. It is perfect for anyone who: • Lives alone and wants to feel more secure • Has health issues • Has a disability • Is at risk of falling • Is living in a vulnerable situation
How it works A Lifeline can be installed into your home in minutes, bringing with it the reassurance of knowing that if you feel unwell, find yourself in danger or have a fall all you need to do is press a red button on a pendant, watch, base-unit or other device. This sends an alert to the team at the Lifeline Control Centre, in Leamington Spa who will respond to you immediately via the loudspeaker. The team will then assess your situation and take appropriate action, this usually involves calling one of your selected emergency contacts (family member, friend or neighbour). If necessary, they will call the emergency services, passing on relevant medical information so they are in the best possible position to help you when they arrive.
Our Services and Products We can offer a range of services and products which can be tailored to meet your personal needs.
The charge for this service starts from £4.50 per week and includes: •2 4 hours 7 days a week monitoring service from our control centre •H ire of lifeline unit and pendant with a variety of wearing options (neck, wrist, key-ring or belt clip) •M aintenance, repair or replacement costs (within 48 hours)
Lifeline unit and pendant Please note that whilst some of our current Lifeline units require a landline our latest products are making use of digital technology and can simply be plugged into a power socket. We advise that you choose a digital service if possible so you won’t be affected by the move from analogue telephones to a digital system over the next two years.

Key Safes We recommend that you have a key safe fitted to your property. This is a secure way of storing a key should it be needed in an emergency, e.g. we can tell 999 services the code, which allows them quick, easy access to your property (rather than potentially damaging your door).
Fall Detectors We supply a technologically advanced fall detector which can be worn on the wrist or around the neck. It will automatically raise an alert if it senses the user has fallen.
GPS Tracking Devices Our small but clever GPS tracking device can track the location of the user, with an alert button for a two-way conversation, fall detector and ability to take incoming calls. The device will work on all the major UK Networks and automatically selecting the best signal. Calls will be monitored by our control centre for a small monthly fee. 4
Telecare mobile phone If you like to get out and about you can rent a discreet and easy-to-use telecare/mobile phone with an inbuilt Lifeline alarm for use inside and outside wherever you are in the UK. Calls will be monitored by our control centre for a small monthly fee.
HEROS Home Emergency Response Officer Service
This is a valuable extra service for residents living within an hour’s drive time of our Leamington Spa (Acorn Court) control centre. Our friendly HEROS team can provide 24/7 assistance to you at home if your family can’t get there. We’ll also make regular wellbeing calls to check that you are safe and secure, provide comfort and reassurance or simply a welcome chat. If you have fallen and are uninjured but need help to get back up, our responders are trained to provide specialist lifting services to get you back on your feet safely and with dignity.

Information we will need from you For the Lifeline service to work effectively we will need the following: • Details of at least two emergency contacts (e.g. next of kin, a neighbour, friend) who are willing to be called by our team to assist and be a keyholder if you do not have a keysafe • Your doctor’s name, address and contact details • The name, address and contact details of a carer/care agency and/or social worker (if relevant) • Any relevant medical information (this can be relayed to paramedics) • Any other information for an emergency situation (e.g. if you have a pet, who will look after it if you are taken into hospital?)
Please not that if you sign up for our service a direct debit mandate will need to be completed for payment on a quarterly basis. Other payment options are also available This information is kept securely on our Lifeline computer system and is covered by GDPR. All calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.
