Project CI:PHER Award 2014
Beforehand, an independent jury - composed of Heath Gross (CEO& Founder, Sedulo Group), Anders Bretz (Founding Partner, Wide Narrow), Markus Ott (Head of Global Market Evaluation, Festo AG), Helen Woodcock (Competitive Intelligence & Benchmarking Advisor, IT, Royal Dutch, Shell plc.), had performed a pre-selection from all submitted applications and chosen a number of projects to win in each category. In a second step, the winner and special honor were announced and presented their project live during the official award ceremony. Award Category: Best CI Project 2014 The winner of the premier CI:PHER Award 2014 selected by the jury is Citrix Systems Inc., awarded in Berlin for their project ‘Win Loss Review Tool’. The tool ‘addresses the growing complexity and competitiveness of a business’ environment by leveraging field-based intelligence for the benefit of multiple stakeholders across sales, marketing and product development’ says Marcet. Citrix had applied a new knowledge- creation and sharing model, allowing for information to freely flow across the traditional internal barriers of the business. Competitive and market intelligence had been extracted from thousands of won or lost deals in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner via the integration of a feedback tool, analyzing and distributing a more continuous output of actionable competitive insights on a real time basis, than traditional methods.

The DSM Innovation Center CI/MI team had grown over the past years into a highly diversified team, ‘in which diversity is not only based on gender and nationality but also on education, background and experience’, as Kragten explained. With a CI / MI team composing of people from diverse countries, cultures and backgrounds, DSM disposes of an array of knowledge from many different industries and lines of work, combined in one effective CI/MI with the capabilities to question and surpass critical challenges and trends in the market. The DSM CI / MI had thoroughly succeeded in collaborating in a highly effective manner with one another, performing in an objective way and questioning certain approaches that were driven by their backgrounds. The cross-fertilization among the team members allowed for better and new ways of working, while aiding the acquisition of valuable information and knowledge within the organization.
