Charles Homs set the focus of his presentation on Competitive Intelligence: Measuring competitors and Measuring Yourself, examining competitors beyond industry statistics, interpreting financial results in a redefining industry and gaining ROI from competitive intelligence.

Gonzalo Viera led one of the seven World Café Sessions. He set the focus on Competitive Intelligence & Consumer Insights and How a brand strategy can be created. The discussion evolved around understanding the macro environment, consumers, how products are perceived, brand proposition, future brand strategy and the future of Carlsberg competitors.

Steven Apfel centered his Case Study around “Competitive Assessment In a Competitive Environment”, whereby he gave insights on competitive assessment in the US defense Industry, customers, top level strategies, customer buying and more. CASE STUDY Brasiliero S.A.

Dr. Volkmar Pflug presented a case study showing how to compete with emerging market competitors. Themes as the significance of emerging markets potential, strategic approaches of emerging market competitors to become global player, local vs. global markets and an approach for incumbents to compete successfully in emerging markets, were his points of subject.

Petróleo

Renata Teixeira examined in her Case Study “Investment Strategy Aided by Technological Competitive Intelligence” the role of technological competitive intelligence on refining strategy development. Furthermore, she gave an overview on the petroleum refining processes and insights on decision making and investment strategy.

CI:PHER AWARD 2014

CI:PHER Award 2014 Winner 

The winner of the premier CI:PHER Award 2014 selected by the jury is Citrix Systems Inc., awarded in Berlin for their project ‘Win Loss Review Tool’

The tool addresses the growing complexity and competitiveness of a business’ environment by leveraging field-based intelligence for the benefit of multiple stakeholders across sales, marketing and product development.

Citrix had applied a new knowledge- creation and sharing model, allowing for competitive and market intelligence to be extracted from thousands of won or lost deals in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner via the integration of a feedback tool for actionable competitive insights on a real time basis.

Special Honor: Best Diversified CI-Team 2014  

A special honor went to the DSM Innovation Center in the category “Best Diversified CI-Team”, for outstanding achievements reached by a culturally diverse CI / MI team. The DSM CI / MI had thoroughly succeeded in collaborating effectively disposing of an array of knowledge from different backgrounds, industries and lines of work, combined in one effective CI/MI with the capabilities to question and surpass critical challenges and trends in the market.

Charity Donation 2014: Africa Amini Alama  The winners of the CI:PHER AWARD 2014 not only received a trophy and an official certificate proving their excellent work, but a prize donation of 2000 € was enabled by we.CONECT to support the charity initiative Africa Amini Alama in aiding the medical, educational and social sectors of rural communities in Tansania / Africa.
