A book of songs in Samoan and English sung by children and parents from the Casey Pacifica Care Playgroup
The Making Books Making Readers program is an outreach project of the Victorian Government’s Young Readers Program. This project is delivered in partnership between the State Library of Victoria, the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and the Municipal Association of Victoria. Casey-Cardinia Library Corporation and Windermere’s Communities For Children Cranbourne, are delighted to be involved in a community book making project that celebrates language, literacy and community to young people and their families. The Casey Pacifica Care Playgroup meets twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This initiative was started in order to accommodate the children of the Pacific to stimulate their mental and motor skills in their early age. Children who normally stayed home had so much fun and joy during their first day’s experience. They have since looked forward each day to mingling with others at the centre.
