It’s been less than a year since the first SelfMade event in Dublin, but so much has happened. The idea was to do something that celebrates musicians without sugar-coating the real work that goes in behind the scenes. Thank you all for contributing to the first year of SelfMade and for shaping our future plans.
"On Friday 15th June 2018, I played my first live show since being hospitalised for a mental breakdown and trauma. Although a number of months had passed since my inpatient treatment, doing anything for the first time after being acutely suicidal can feel terrifying. Standing on a stage alone, performing songs you wrote in a hospital for the first time, is a vulnerable experience.

I wanted something to be able to look back on, learn from, and use as a tool to show myself that I am capable of doing something I’m proud of.
